Campbell Brown to Port

SEN will have a statement from Big Bad Mal Brown in a few minutes

Ordinary player anyway.

Love the Hawks. "No premiership player will be leaving." Guess one won't be coming in then. Melbourne or the Dons for Shaun.

So we could tie him down and beat the shit out of him every day?:D
To be fair, tying him down would be the only way anyone at Essendon would have a chance.

So when a newspaper reports a rumor that he's up for trade, it's reasonable to assume it's accurate, however when the club president denies said rumor, his comments should be dismissed?

In any case - I for one am happier than i was an hour ago!

Port are still talking to Brown- with Hawthorn's consent. I wouldn't get too comfortable.

Dunno what is true re some of the trade talk but this one has to be BS. Pick 9 and Brown? Pick 9 is enough. If Port don't want it then Hawthorn should stick with their premiership midfield and use the draft.

Not even close. Burgoyne is an established star, whose best is as good an anyone's. Has injury concerns, but if his body is well managed, he should have several more decent years in him.

Pick 9 on the other hand is (a) very hit or miss (b) a future prospect, as opposed to a top-up for another flag-tilt, which is where the Hawks are at.

Disagree. I’d love to get Burgoyne to Collingwood but he’s worth pick 6 to 10. Chuck in a fringe player if he suits the destination club. No skin off my nose as it doesn’t involve my club.

Burgoyne doesn’t just have injury concerns he has brain concerns. Burgoyne has talent but he is a lazy, self absorbed footballer. His best is very good. Not as good as the very best players in the comp but very good. His worst is concerning and his midpoints are too frequent.

This honestly smacks of Stevens except in the end one of the clubs will cave. Players are better advised, especially when not by family, and nominating Melbourne was a smart move.
