Brownlow Can The Bont Bring Charlie Home

Wines is an absolute tank and one of the best inside mids in the game. He has actually far surpassed what most people would have expected where he'd be a high floor, low ceiling player that was ready to go immediately.

Yes, but you could argue Macrae is that for us and look how he polled.

Should've lost by a lot more. We were extremely accurate and Port were extremely inaccurate.
I don’t buy into that line of argument. Shoulda woulda coulda. What happened, happened. We lost by 2 points after leading all night and not 1 vote. Especially when dud teams are losing by 8 goals and getting a 3 votes player.

But the good thing about tonight is, in the old days, the brownlow was the last chance for the bullies to win something cause our season was already over.
Not this year!!!

Ah well, Bont will get the only medal that counts on Saturday.

Congratulations to him, but am I the only one that thinks Wines is very vanilla as a player? Line them up against a wall and you would choose Bont every time.

I think Bont would take a premiership medal over a Brownlow any day of the week, but (as if he needs any more motivation) hopefully he uses this as a bit more ammo come Saturday.

used to think the same of Wines but he is a worthy winner and has evolved his game very well and become an incredibly good player.

I will say that from next year onwards there's going to be more eyes on Macrae and he'll be getting more votes, will be a lot of talking heads wondering why Bont got such a favourable deal from the Brownlow votes while Macrae barely broke double digits.

Some of our supporters need to stay away from the main board. Like mice to cheese, dont get sucked in. Be humble and move away.

yeah it’s a bit of a cesspit looking for anything to shit on the dogs

Bont is only 25, he hasn’t even peaked yet, plenty of time for him to bring home Charlie.

Still interesting the way the game was umpired against Port and the votes they put together.

Yep Wines has got this, frustrating that our shitting the bed in the final 3 rounds probably cost Bont the brownlow.
This might be a case of getting cause and effect the wrong way around.

One of the reasons the side dropped off in form a (certainly not the ONLY reason but an important factor) was that Bont's output dropped and he was playing at about 70% of his usual impact for a span of about 4-5 weeks.

If anything it was the unconfirmed shoulder injury that may have cost him a Brownlow.

And if it's not that, it simply means Wines was more consistent than Bont over the whole season. That's how it should be.

At least Oliver / Petracca didn’t win. I’ve had enough of Melbourne.

Macrae is extremely stiff not to receive far more votes.

Is he any lesser of a player than Tom Mitchell who got 11 more votes than Jack and also played in a team that struggled most of the year.

It's more beneficial being Steele, Walsh and Mitchell who carry their midfields. Meanwhile Oliver, Petracca and Gawn are just taking votes off each other.
