Can Hawthorn win a game? It appears that the hawks are good for 3/4 of a game but lack the composure and intensity to complete some wins.. against the good and bad sides of AFL at the moment...

Bring back Roughead and drop Ries, that guy has had way too many chances at senior level. He really struggles in every department...

Blood more young players.. why not we have nothing to lose at the moment!

Barker is too injury prone.. Holland is a true magoo....

Invest time in Franklin as a CHF.... he will only get better

if you play with the same spirit and level you did against west coast on the weekend, you most definately will win...

but you rely waaaay too much on williams

get a decent crumber (not harry miller) and you'll be ok

Relax , you have got the Pies in a few weeks.

Hawks have a bit of a learning curve to run out games with the same intensity. They are coming from a long way back , just give them time.

There are two reasons we're not winning games.

(1) Senior players performing like dogs. Vandenberg, Hay, Smith, Dixon and Jacobs the primary offenders. If some of these blokes had performed we'd have won a few games.

(2) Our bottom few just aren't AFL standard. Some never will be and some are a few years off. ie. No depth.


The reasons we are being competitive are the following:
Hodge, Everitt, Croad, Bateman, Mitchell, Williams, Brown, Osborne, Crawford, Lewis.


We should win a few games, but we should have won a few already.

Real danger game for Dees. We're not firing on all cylinders yet. Our midfield needs to break even or near it to win.

Hodge, Batemen, Mitchell, Crawford, Vandenburg are currently a better midfield. We have more class but will lose if not 'on'.

Dees will be better towards end of season. Odds will ensure that Hawks a good bet.

Hawthorn may well recieve early draft picks but were certainly not playing for them, we may have only won 1 game but you can't question our commitment ( excluding Jacobs ) only our ability. Stop bleeding over the Tiges decision to draft mids at the expense of good talls.

Statistics made all the worse by the fact that both clubs were coming off back-to-back preceding seasons where they'd only won 7 games.

I am pretty sure that we weren't 4 wins 4 losses though. Also, when the wooden spoon was on the line I think it was the Hawks that won comfortably, choosing pride over draft picks. We may get some high picks this year but it is not because we are tanking!
