I agree FF. Wayne's body language was clearly anxious - and why wouldn't he be? How humiliating this must have all been for him. Just stop and think for one minute. The man who once had the world at his feet, can now not even go into a grocery store for food out of shame and embarrassment.

An interesting snippet:

Bella DePaulo, a visiting professor of psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, writes that “lying is not a distinct psychological process with its own unique behavioral indicators. It does matter how liars feel and how they think.” Indeed, many of the tell-tale signs common to liars, like fidgeting and sweating, can also be signs of ordinary anxiety. It’s tough to tell the difference between a liar and an honest person who happens to be under a lot of stress.

Hands up anyone who thinks Wayne Carey would not be under a lot of stress at the moment.

It's worth pointing out something he said on Footy Classified last year.

Caro was going on about Cousins smirking at the airport, as if it meant he had no remorse. Carey pointed out that until you've been in that situation you can't make a call on it. Obviously he said he'd been in that situation before being followed, you've got cameras in your face, everyone's looking at you, you've got no idea what to say, you're nervous and it's tough to control reactions and mostly the look on your face was no indication of how you're feeling.

You don't need the herald scum to tell you he was telling porkies re: Moran.

You don't rock up as character witnesses for blokes you barely know.

People with money and connections (Moran) need high profile (and well liked) people to give character witnesses for them (whether they know them well or not) in an attempt to show they are "all round good guys". In their eyes, character witnesses from well known people will very often carry more weight than those from the average joe. Morans lawyers would have probably contacted neighbours to ask them to give an account of Moran as a neighbour... you know, does he throw wild parties, are there pimps/hookers/druggies hanging around all the time, when you see him is he sober? that sort of thing. It is not unusual for people who are relative strangers to be asked for a character witness - because they don't actually know anything, they present a stronger case for the client.

Carey's dealings with him could well have been limited to the casual chats in the street and supermarket. Unless you were there and categorically know that Carey's recollection is wrong, then you are only making an assumption.

which means carey either lied to denton or committed purjury.

interesting.

thats devalues anything carey has to say in his defence, as by his own mouth he EITHER lied to the court or to denton.

Anyone who takes Careys interview at face value is pretty naive.

:thumbsu:

The guy was cheating with one of his best mates wives.......does it get any lower and could he possibly be more stupid???

Cheating on his own wife is the lowest act here. That his involvement happened to be with the wife of a team-mate is a different issue - and that's mainly between that team-mate and his own wife to sort out.

It always amazed me that the major emphasis of that affair was how Carey betrayed Stevo, when the really severe betrayal was by Carey towards his wife and Kelly Stevens towards her husband.

Likewise, Bill Clinton's major crime wasn't cheating on the USA with his Lewinsky tryst as we were led to believe - it was cheating on his wife.

So which one do you believe, is it over or not?

Carey splits with girlfriend: family
Friday Apr 4 05:52 AEDT
Fallen AFL superstar Wayne Carey and his model girlfriend Kate Neilson have split after a tumultuous two-year relationship, family sources say.

An unnamed Carey family source told News Limited the separation was final.

"It was amicable, and they are both moving forward in their lives," the source said.

But Ms Neilson, 26, who flew out of Melbourne on Thursday to take a break with relatives, denied the relationship was over.

"There are up and down moments, but I'm going to go away and Wayne and I will hopefully get things back on track, and things will be more positive in the future," she told News Limited.

"I'm just going away for a week or two to clear my head - just to get away from Melbourne for a bit."

The Carey family source said the break up followed a wild night in which Ms Neilson was photographed while partying with friends at a Melbourne nightclub last weekend.

Carey's life off the footy field has been littered with a range of headline-grabbing stories.

The former Kangaroos star is facing criminal charges for assaulting police in the US state of Florida, after a wine glass was smashed in Ms Neilson's face last October.

Carey, 36, bared his soul in an interview on the ABC's Enough Rope program with Andrew Denton, which aired on Monday.

He and Ms Neilson have been living apart since the alleged Miami assault was revealed eight weeks ago.

The report on Brisbane radio this morning was that they were 'taking a break' with audio of her saying she was going away for a few weeks to have some time out.

The other half came out with his typical anti-female comments of "Yep, just like all the ____s say, a 'break' really means 'going to screw someone else for a while without relationship comeback'.

He's a pain in the arse with his female comments, but he may just be on the mark this time.
