Anyway, nothing wrong with following the Ablett's work closely as a supporter new to the game. They went alright.
I don’t feel like I have to put one in front of the other. Feel fortunate to have seen both careers.
Both great players in different ways.
For raw power and unbelievable physical feats, senior was the best I’ve ever seen. I remember an article where the writer went into deep detail around fast twitch muscle fibre and attributing Ablett’s success to that.
But he had natural footy smarts too.
Many times it seemed he was playing chess while every other player was playing checkers (though obviously not actual chess. He wasn’t a bright man.)
For consistent high performance doing every aspect incredibly well, junior was brilliant too.

I love how you cherry-pick 2 games out of two seasons in which he amassed over 250 goals (that’s not a typo).
Yes I know those two games are the most important games but to ignore every other game in those seasons shows your personal hatred a little too clearly.

An Ablett highlight reel is like watching a stuntman blindfolded, and a Carey one is like watching a lumberjack chop trees with a couple of swings. Both players have extraordinary stats and the only thing guaranteed is a barney around the importance of a given achievement.
