This is an embarrasment to the AFL, Telstra and the sponsor. Despite having Bigpond cable:

  • It takes several minutes just to open. Sometimes (in particular today) it does not open at all
  • It's incredibly cumberson to configure to the statistics you actually want to track.
  • Try selecting half the stats that are outlayed in the menu - they won't appear!
  • You switch to another game and it changes the viewable stats back to default
This thing worked better about 4 years ago. So much for progress.....

Was happy with the Match Centre last year, it's beyond horrid the last two weeks. Only finally got it to open after switching browser and letting it sit there loading for 10 minutes. Then realised I saved the .asx stream file for Triple M last week and goodbye went the MC.

Agree with you totally.

Tried using it for the first time this year to follow West Coast and Sydney match. So slow and difficult to navigate I turned it off and went back to the FanFooty blog.

The main AFL site has also taken a step backwards in its recent changes.

Has anyone ever got the radio component to work?

I have never been able to use any of the streams in MatchCentre.

I then go to the radio website to find the livestream, and get a recorded message that the AFL is broadcasting only from afl.com.au . How am I meant to listen?
The only way I have been listening to games is through a radio app on my Blackberry.

Hit Telstra where it hurts - their advertisers. $$$$$

Email this guy at Fosters

Australia - Corporate:

Email: Troy.Hey@fostersgroup.com

and tell him that you no longer will be drinking Carlton due to the brands support of the terrible AFL website. <List problems>

Say you won't be drinking Carlton again until it has been replaced with something that quickly and reliably works.

Sponsor's name is in the thread title for a reason.

Foster's should ask for their money back.

Mods will invariably move it to the Media board where it'll get **** all coverage.

It's a pertinent issue that needs addressing. Leave it on the main board where hopefully somebody from the media/AFL will come across it and actually try and do something about it.

Note to Hutchy: footy fans will be a lot more grateful if you pressured the AFL into improving the state of its website rather than trawling through yet another footballer's garbage for any scoops.

I'm in the UK, so I have fantastic internet speeds. And yet I can't load up that damn match centre. I'm playing the games live over the net in HD from the AFL site and its fine - but I can't open the match centre.

Please fix the damn thing.

The above link use to work until this round.

HTML stats - quick to load, every stat there, no shite, no graphics which make the website slow.

It's a bit of karma how Demetriou complains around roadworks around Docklands...maybe the halfwits finally know how it feels when you have fools in charge who make changes to services which end up making the things worse.

The incompetent fools responsible for the AFL site need to be given the sack. HTML stats need to be re-instated for the next round. It can't be hard for the fools to do.
