*UPDATE FOR GRAND FINAL BALLOT SHOULD CARLTON QUALIFY:-

BALLOT EMAIL WENT OUT TODAY 18TH SEPTEMBER.

Absolutely was logged in at the time. Tried on my mobile and got through right away no waiting time and got Category 1 tickets, which we wanted.
Maybe you are better off not being logged in to Ticketek (which doesn't make sense)?

Why else would the timer start for you in the waiting lounge, whereas for me it didn't start until I had already selected my tickets and was prompted to log in then?

Did you pick your seats or did they get given to you after choosing best available?
AFL members get a choice of which area you prefer i.e
level 1 open
Level 1 undercover
level 2A
level 4 front/middle/back

or you can select best available.. if you dont like the tickets, or there isnt sufficient seats left, you can go back and select another area

As to selecting seats/rows etc, no you at the whim of Ticketek.

However, during the year for lesser games at the MCG i have been able to select the exact seats I want.

Also, tell me they didn't put saints v giants tix up at same time?Thought I heard that on radio?

Yes they did.

Ridiculous horsey.

As I mentioned earlier, all 4 games should have been spread across 4 days.

Does anyone know if there are any perks for long-term members? I'm told 20-year members at North have priority 1 access to Grand Final tickets.
Richmond have Gold, Silver and Bronze level members based on years of membership.

My in-laws are Gold level, but are not in the guaranteed access categories. It determines who has greater access to tickets and ballots for certain games. They might get in a ballot for the GF, whereas Silver and Bronze wouldn't.

Carlton just seem to have the Carltonians, Legends Lounge and some Captains Club members who are in the "guaranteed access" 17,000. What happens if only 14,000 take up the offer I don't know. That's when we should have a system like Richmond that advantages longer serving members. It's one of those things that hasn't been relevant for us for 20 years.

Of course!
And how many years have they had to get it right?

Captains Club are capped at 15,000 Members and there has been a waitlist for years.

Do you know how many Carltonians and Legends Lounge there is?

I only said 17,000 in total because of Keyza's post:

There cannot be a guarantee for Grand Final tickets for long term members. Each club only gets around 17,000 tickets. That is why captains club has a waiting list as the clubs cannot sell more of these types of memberships than the 17,000.
The clubs cannot control the number of long term members.

No not really but I can find out.

I remember last year the 2 participating Clubs in the GF were allocated 34K seats, 17K for each Club.

The timer was all over the shop. My mate got a ten second timer to enter his card details.
