No Simmo beard's detractors are still here.

I hate player bashing, especially where there is no logical reason behind it. With Lucas as we all know has been injured and is ONLY 22 years old.

Hopefully Betsy will re-sign in the next couple of weeks. Maybe he has delayed signing due to his injuries and form this year and wants to get himself right before he does.

Simon White is out of contract at year end.

Wonder if his recent neck injury will put an end to him being re-signed. Have we seen the last of White?

Nope. Mick said in his presser he'll be ready for preseason. I'm guessing that means we haven't seen the last of Whitey :)

It is going to be a tough year in 2014 with so many star players coming out of contract:

1. Andrew Walker - Aug 2011, 3 years...........2014
3. Marc Murphy - June 2011, 3 years.............2014
4. Bryce Gibbs - May 2010, 2 years................2014
5. Chris Judd - May 2013, 1 year...................2014
6. Kade Simpson - Aug 2011, 3 years..............2014
12. Mitch Robinson - Mar 2012, 2 yrs................2014
13. Chris Yarran - July 2012, 2 yrs....................2014
17. Sam Rowe - July 2013, 1 year ..............2014
22. Shaun Hampson - Sept 2011, 3 years..........2014
28. Tom Bell - October 2012, 2 yrs ....................2014 (with a 3rd yr option)
30. Jarrad Waite - Oct 2011, 3 years................2014
38. Jefferey Garlett - August 2011, 3 yr extension..2014
40. Michael Jamison - April 2011, 3 yrs................2014
41. Levi Casboult - Oct 2012, 2 yrs....................2014 (Elevated to Snr list)

Murph contract until 2014 and will be a free agent with Gibbs, Simpson, Waite & Jamison.

Not sure if someone has already brought this up, but just had a thought on Waite's contract.

My understanding is that it was signed in late 2011, for 3 years, ending in 2014, with the last year as an 'option'.

I am taking a leap here, but I assume the third year in 2014 would/could be linked to KPIs like # of games played.

He has played 8 games so far this year, is listed as Carlton's favourite 'two weeks away' so who knows when he will be back and how many games he will play this year. Will struggle to make it over 11 games, with half a season being my made up minimum hurdle you would put in a contract...

Any chance the club (with or without Waite's agreement) is managing the number of games he plays so they can renegotiate his contract for next year?

its a good question, if he hasn't played the minimum amount of games in his contract, the club has a clause for termination but I doubt the club would want to get rid of Jarrod, I suppose the club would want to negotiate on remuneration and as Jarrod is a veteran I doubt he would receive more money elsewhere.

Add in the fact that he quite possibly wouldnt want to go elsewhere.

He is as blue blooded as you can get.
