Beaten by a better team on the day, Judd only had a shocker because he was smashed by welsh.

Lucas had one of his worst matches for years and Essendon were a player down, the "we played like crap" argument doesn't come into it sorry champ

i thought it was an awesome match personally

You would

You know Carlton are back on the up, when beating them inspires this much of a response.

Good for football

lol I'm just having a quiet chuckle here. After I heard about the loss yesterday I could already imagine the Carlton fans on here saying how even though they've lost twice to Essendon this season they are still the better team, check the ladder, we played rubbish, you have to expect up and downs with a young team etc. Yet they were all 'no excuse' last week Collingwood lost to the Blues :D

Good work Bombers, I thought Carlton would beat you guys pretty comfortably :thumbsu: Still, from what I've read Carlton did show a lot of strength clawing their way back after a dismal first quarter and it's only a 5min fadeout in the last quarter that blew the score out again.

Carlton vs Tigers is going to be BIG next week!

good luck next week richmond :thumbsu:

Go tiges!

Unfortunately we weren't good enough on both occasions.

But to see the Bombers (Carlton hate them more than the Pies) pump the Blues TWICE (2 times) was magnificent!

Now all we can hope for is our down town rival Richmond doing what we couldn't; PUMP THE BLUES AGAIN THIS SEASON!!!!

GO TIGERS!!!!!!

Beaten by a more determined team. Deplorable skills. To get carved up by a VERY average player in Monfries was particularly disappointing. He has absolutely no standout attributes, yet we made him look like a millionaire.

Reamed by the umps, but that had to be expected after the dream run we got last week vs Collingwood. They didn't dictate the game at any rate.

Also, why is it every time I watch Essendon's aboriginal boys on TV, they do little more than take up a spot on the ground. Put them against Carlton though and they grow a third leg. Quite frustrating.

Typical, will be funny though when the Blues miss out on the finals by 1 game and the lowley Don have beaten them twice, I think all essendon supports will start September with a smile on their face knowing that fact!

and Collingwood

Collingwood lose to Carlton and Doggies in successive weeks , are just hanging on in the eight with Sydney, Adelaide and North coming in the next 3 weeks, yet they troll Carlton. Amazing.

Not sure if there is much to argue about with the result. Hille was utterly domnant. Cloke is a good battler but was totally outclassed. When you see the way Hille has played the last few weeks one wonders why he isn't consistently one of the best rucks in the comp. Watson was great in close and thrashed bentick (who has been good recently) and any side that dominates the centre clearances like the Bombers will beat the Blues.

Our backline is improving but if you get done in the middle you usually don't win. Waite is not a CHB. He is very creative but needs to be more than a loose man in defence. He should be used forward or as a Chad Cornes style on baller. On opponents like Lloyd he is out strengthened too easily and when he was on Monfries he 'locked him down' by not getting within 20 metres of him. The Bombers small players were too quick and the Blues forward line is a one man band. Fisher can only kick 30 metres and needs to be played within goal kicking distance from goal or any possession he gets is usually wasted. We were ahead of ourselves, we failed to do anything to lock down the Bombers midfield dominance. We rely far too much on Judd and Fev and need more pace. We are not a final 8 side but the coaching panel had 12 weeks to plan for this, promised it would not be a shoot out and then sat back and watched as we got obliterated. The Tiges next week will be tough depending on whether the good or bad Tigers turn up. Let's hope we play Waite forward. if they put him on Richo, Richo will have a field day, and if they put him on Hughes Waite won't go near him.

Nostradamous has spoken.:D

Will take that as intended, Thank you very much .. Lets Roar

Khan

Trust me Khan, it's intended!

Missed the first 10 minutes of the Bullies V Pies cause I was too busy watching the scoreboard for updates!

GO TIGERS!

Send those cheats home with 2 losses to the Tigers for the year!!!!!!!!

Who was Gibbs tagging?

I presume Mr Smitehrs, that's a round about way of asking whether he was on Monfries. From memory Carazzo, Waite Thornton Armfield were somewhere near Monfries as opponents. Maybe Gibbs was there for a while, anyway I thought he was one of Carlton's few good players. Certainly the cleanest with handling and disposing of the ball.

The game was won and lost at the centre and round the ground clearances where Hill was totally dominant.

I can understand Bombers fans getting involved in this discussion, but it never ceases to amaze me how high the Blues are in the thoughts of non Carlton fans. We'll take it as a compliment. I care about Carlton, but am not interested enough to comment on other teams. But hats off to so many of you, especially Collingwood fans, who find such solace in a Carlton loss.

Doesn't mean they were effected exactly the same. Judd clearly struggled after that. I could see that, but Welsh done exactly what his job required also. It was a combination of both.

Ratten said Judd was still looking effected by it an hour after the game, you cannot undervalue how much it effected him he got a nasty bump to the back of the skull.
