okay then guys where do you slot bernie vince in all of this. i think he had a great year and is proberly as good as all listed but would be interested in somebody elses view.

What would Betts be worth to West Coast or another team that needs a crumbing forward?

Betts won't be traded, but I love watching Garlett and Yarran play together.

Garlett soccered one ball straight to Yarran in space and nearly created another goal.

Those two freaks just know where the other one is at all times.

You do have 3 pretty good crumbers, wouldn't mind one....
Good point..

In Betts, Garlett & Yarran the blues have 3 good crumbers. It's hard to see all 3 of them getting a game at once, so surely one must be surplus to requirements. This is an area where Adelaide have a distinct lack of options.

What price would Carlton supporters put on the heads of this trio?

Serious suggestions only. You're not going to get Vince, Tippett, Otten, Mackay or Dangermouse. However, you should consider our first round draft selection (#13) firmly on the table if the right deal can be made.

I doubt the club plan to use Yarran as a crumber, with his skill I'm hoping he spends more time delivering the ball inside 50 than finishing off himself.

Garlett would surely be given another couple of years to add some strength, we wouldn't be looking to trade him.

You would have some chance of getting your hands on Eddie as he'll never be anything other than a pure crumber, albeit an excellent one, which is exactly what you're looking for right? You'd have to make us a good offer as we wouldn't be looking to trade. I'm not at all familiar with this year's draft so I don't know who we could get at 13. Who are your tradeable players?

Vince I rank among the elite mids in the game. Doesn't get the media that he deserves but he goes about his business and is usually very successful. Adelaide's best player for mine. I put some money on him to place in the Brownlow tonight but the more I think about it the more I see Scott Thompson taking votes off of him.

As far as the value to the trio's heads... I wouldn't be trading Yarren or Garlett. That leaves Betts and his value is probably higher to Carlton than it is to another club. Taking a look at the Crows list the players that intrigue me are Taylor Walker, Chris Knights and Jared Petrenko. I don't know how those three are rated save for Walker who I know won't leave the Crows.

First names which spring to mind are Reilly, Griffin & Douglas. I have seen posts on BF linking Reilly with Carlton, but I have no confidence in their authenticity.

If there's another player you have in mind (noting that our young guns are all off the table), feel free to make a suggestion. The answer might just be yes.

Guatama, the club recruited Yarran as a crumber with the hope that he would eventually develop into a midfielder - this was a reason for picking him over Rich who it is thought is solely an on-baller.

So the club have recruited Yarran as both a crumber and on-baller

Betts will be played more in the midfield in the coming years so it would be easy to see them all in the same team. Yarran will be more a half flanker and garlett is a crumber.

Just becasue they are indigenous doesn't mean they all play the same position. Yarran is a much bigger bodied player than the rest and will push up as an option across half forward. Yarran's delivery into the forward line will be critical to our success in future years.

Kade Simpson is to good to give him up and y would we give up pik 11 for Travis Boak:mad:. Pik 11 could be Talia, Panos or some other big boy. soooo no i dont think we will give up pik 11 because that will most likley be a big foward:D

I really like Travis Boak as a player he woukd be great but not pik 11 and Kade Simpson.
I think 2nd round and Jacobs= Beacause they need a new ruckman, Hartlett= Because they need a bigger and stroger mark and kick up foward and he can go down back and his bro plays there. Westoff is a SPUDD!!!

:D:D:DSOOOO 2ND, JACOBS AND HARTLETT:D:D:D

I like reilly but he doesn't really fill a need for the Blues so I think we'd be better off keeping Betts.

I imagine we'd be very interested in Walker, obviously we'd have to offer more than a straight swap though.

We don't need a big bodied midfielder?

He may not be the player we are after but it is that inside, hard midfielder that we are in need of. I hope that Grigg, Robinson and to an extent Ellard (if retained) can provide us with this player.

Taylor Walker will not be going anywhere, he is too valuable and with Burton to retire in the next year or so he is the perfect replacement. With Dangerfield spending more time in the middle when Edwards, Goodwin and McLoed being taken out of the rotation over the next few years Walker will get plenty of opportunity next year.

Everything about your post annoys me.

Throw in a nice fruit Basket to top it off.:D
Seriously though if port excepted that deal Choco would have his contract shredded.

One thing I always find when viewing Carlton is that 90% of the time I'm watching Fevola, Betts, Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Thornton, Houlihan, Waite and Simpson. I really can't analyse the rest of that list because I don't notice them in a game. Don't notice their impact, their one percenters, etc.

Therefore players like Bentick I have nfi about even though the name's been thrown a lot.

So irritating during (or coming up to) trade week when you're trying to analyse which players may improve your own list and what they're worth on the market. Don't seem to have this problem with other clubs. :S

Putting aside the fact that EVERYTHING about this post is ridiculous, I love how you say that we need someone to replace Westhoff because he's a spud and then your suggested replacement is a guy who can't get a game in a team with only 3 half decent KPP's, two of which were injured for most of the year .

Seriously though if port excepted that deal Choco would have his face shredded.

Edited for accuracy.

Maybe I've misjudged Reilly but I had down as far more of an outsider than a contested ball and clearance winner. I certainly agree that we need a big-bodied mid who can do these things.

I doubt Knights or Walker would be available, but Petrenko just might be.

Would have to be Knights to get me to put Eddie on the table. Think highly enough of Knights to possibly talk of including a pick upgrade too boot.

Reilly's of little interest given his average disposal.
