WE played like we did 2 years ago.
****ing Stevens is pathetic. He has no heart whatsoever. He just sat and watched that ball, pure luck that it fell into his hands and he got it to Wiggins to score before 3/4 time.

I would suggest posters take a few minutes to gather their thoughts before they post. Posting in the heat of the moment does not bring out the best in people.

Maybe we will grow from this. Maybe we will realise that we can never give up, that we can never stop. We just did not have the numbers at the ball - we played like someone who has already been paid.
Ridiculous. If our team played better, and had some bloody heart, we'd be a mile in Front.
Played pathetically. Pagan days. No confidence, no run, no heart, no support, no talk. A few players stood tall, the rest need to harden the **** up and take a trip down memory lane and see what it means to play for the Navy Blue, and decide if they want to do that, coz if not, they can piss off.

Sorry for intruding but that is one of the most postiive losses your gonna have. Fev kicked 3 goals 7. Essendon played the best they have in 18 months and they stlll only won by 4 points. While you had 1 or 2 passengers (namely Chris Johnson) all in all Essedon played out of there skins and won by 4 points. Good signs indeed all in all.

Thornton made no more mistakes than Murphy and Fevola tonight. He is an A grade defender and your snapo judgement was wrong.
Something we learn from, no game is a given.
Very unfortunate loss, heart was going a mile a minute toward the end as I'm sure thousands of others did.
Quite simply we lacked intensity and wanting of the ball (except perhaps a certain no.8).
Hope they get a big spray and learn from this.

Very true Embers and Cheers for coming here and not trolling after the loss to a much hated rival.
Heads Up Blue fans we played and kicked well below our best and the Bombers played there best so a 4 point loss as dissapointing as it is and i am hurting to is not the end of the world.
Hopefully next week against Sydney we Improve and get back to the pressure and style we played in the 1st two rounds.
we were due for a downer, simple as that.

I think the main points have been summed up thus far. Stevens didn't deserve to be in the side and played like it. No heart whatsoever and i think Scotland will be licking his lips knowing he'll be back next week. Gibbs was very poor. Too much left to Judd and Murphy (who i had never really rated until tonight). Who is that ranga ruckman? He's an absolute spud, Mark Blake MK2. Anyways, as much as i hate Carlton i still think you guys will play finals, however it'll just be making up numbers.
Sure Thornton got sucked in, but you could point to so many incidents/passages of play that cost us the game. Fev's 4.7 came back to hurt us, including that poster in the 2nd quarter when he tried to kick a spectacular goal. Bett's kick which hit the back of the goal post, players getting rundown from behind. The ridiculous free kick against Kreuzer when he got kneed in the head & couldn't move. It is impossible to point to one particular point of the game that cost us the match. There were so many times we 'bombed' certain goals.
