Last year when Fev was up for trade, Carlton said that the price for Collingwood and Essendon was much higher than other clubs.

Jack would be an awesome fit for Carlton so I can see why they are keen. I am still more than happy to hang on to Jack because he gives us great depth & flexibility.
The problem as most have mentioned is the fact that Carlton has very little to offer us. Walker's shoulders are stuffed & has always been massively overated.
How about Garlett? They have plenty of small zippy forwards. Other than that maybe draft picks - whatever they get for Jacobs plus their second round? I think our list is pretty good at the moment so it might be useful to let Hine get a crack at some earlier picks in the draft.

I would not give any player to Carlton that would potentially improve them as a team. Jack is capable of kicking a lot of goals. The only reason he cannot crack it in our senior team atm is because we have 2 gorillas in Cloke and Dawes. They are much harder to handle for the opposition than JA.
Jack is a very talented footballer and no way should the trailer trash get him.
I would rather he go to any other club than Carlton if he is destined to leave.

Do not estimate North, in a couple of years they will be well and truly a threat, much more than the Scum.
On the above Dawes and Cloke fit our game plan and structure a fair bit better, they both have great tanks, can rotate between working really hard up the ground, can continue to set up that foward press style pressure. We spread our goals and for that reason and also due to sheer size and strength big hard working CHF types are better suited.
In another team like Carlton who are much more a run and handball and try and spot up a leading foward in a more traditional style a guy like Jack would become the focal point and really shine. I'd expect him to kick around the 70 goal mark at Carlton.

This. North have a really good young list with a few players who have the potential to be real stars. They also have a couple of holes and older players who won't be there but they are much, much better place to build a real contender then Carlton.
Carlton are like a piss weak version of St Kilda 5 years ago a couple of good top end players and the rest plodders at best, there have been comprimised drafts making it harder for them to bring good talent on and then you will see important players feeling the effect of age by the time their list starts to threaten. They are on track for a long run of the mid table abyss.

North also have a good coach, unlike Carlton who are laughed at every time Ratten's contract is extended.
North remind me a bit of us a few years back. Every player who turns up there is apparently a good solid worker without much skill according to the masses. They'll be a good side.

^^ This. I don't know why everyone is assuming he is gone and scrambling with ideas of what we can get for him - usually below his value. We should def hold on to him if we can't get a suitably favourable trade.
