A lot of people are calling for Casey to be suspended, but why? Does he not have a right to self-defence? I think what he did was fair enough. He needed to be assertive enough to stop the bullying, but not go beyond what he did. Genuinely interested to know why he should get suspended though in case I'm missing something.

Holy shit is it legit that he got suspended, shit like this makes me ****ing rage more than nearly anything else. You can just tell the kid is pretty quiet/tries to keep out of trouble - he even reacted later than he was probably entitled to after receiving a couple of hits, and then he gets punished. Really hope this isn't true.

No one is saying he should be suspended, the school did suspend him and that's why the school is receiving an influx of e-mails telling them that Casey was just defending himself.

What Casey did was completely reasonable and doesn't deserve punishment. He only did it because he felt he had nothing else to do - a pack of kids picking on him, with one little brat hitting him in the face. They were even planning on filming themselves beating him up. Where was his help? Where were the teachers stepping in? Maybe those are the questions that need to be thrown back at the school before suspending Casey.

The little kid came off worse, tough shit. Casey probably gets bullied frequently and the school allows it to happen. The long-term emotional damage that can cause is far worse than the physical damage he inflicted.

WOW that reaction is epic. Over the top? yes; but did the runt deserve it? Hell Yeah. And Kudos for Casey to be able to stand there and take the punch like it was a fly buzzing around him and nothing more. Casey sure has some potential as a fighter coz he certainly doesn't have a glass jaw.
