Race 1
2 So Anyway
6 Impulsive Dream
8 Rachine
3 My Girl Helen
Going with So Anyway here. Form around More Joyous & Melito reads very well. Will run the trip however the only concern is the 59kg. Query runner is Impulsive Dream. 1st up, straight to 1400m. I'd be surprised if Lee has her absolutely primed for this, more likely aiming for a nice race during Cup Week. Rachine finished well at the Valley last start, whilst My Girl Helen has a win @ Caulfield and has form around Irish Lights and Avenue.
Race 2
2 Bawaardi
4 Weasley
6 Savaging
3 Sigma
Majority of the field meeting again after running behind Tickets on Turnbull Day. Going with Bawaardi based on great 0.3l 2nd. Will sit up on the pace and make own luck. Weasley will be better for the run. Savaging the only other chance without running in the same race, however still a maiden. If the track is suiting the back markers, include Sigma.
Race 3
2 Livia
3 Mirrasalo
1 Run For Naara
11 Absolute Joy
If Livia is going to run be a chance for the Oaks, she needs to come out win well. No reason to get off her at this stage. Mirrasalo the next best with handy form behind Viking Ruler. If Run For Naara met this lot at equal weights, she'd be my top tip. However 59kg over 2000m is a big query. Does have form around Denman (who may have been over the top that run). Throwing in Absolute Joy in hope she continues to the Oaks.
Race 4
3 Gathering
6 Saint Encosta
5 Tribunal
2 Shamoline Warrior
Risking the locals here and going with Gathering. Very versatile colt showing great form on both wet and dry tracks. Run in the Spring Champion was tremendous, only beaten by a NZ mudlark. Pushed So You Think to less than a length and if So You Think was in this he'd be even money. Saint Encosta got run down by Shamoline Warrior but I expect him to turn the tables with a slight weight advantage. Tribunal on home track will run a great race, whilst Shamoline Warrior is ideally suited to Flemington.
Race 5
2 Royal Discretion
11 Snipers Bullet
5 Rightfully Yours
8 Kiloton
Will history repeat? I am tipping it will. Royal Discretion won this race last year and I can't see why it wont today. Meets a few of these worse off at the weights however I'm going to stick with him. If this track is favoring swoopers, watch for Snipers Bullet. Last start 3rd beaten 6l was huge given he was dead last at the turn. Rightfully Yours is a must include whilst Kiloton wasn't suited to the wet track last start.
Race 6
2 Hot Danish
7 Gold Water
3 Typhoon Tracy
13 Tootsie
Today we will see the return of a star. Hot Danish gets a perfect barrier in race with plenty of speed to suit her down to the ground. Only thing to stop her will be bad luck. Gold Water will look the winner inside the final 100m but will succumb to the fav. Typhoon Tracy has had a freshen up after 3 top notch performances this prep. Tootsie should have won last week, but didn't. Gets to pet distance and will run a top race.
Race 7
2 Baughurst
7 Shocking
4 Drumbeats
5 Pacino
Looking for Baughurst to go back-to-back here. Deserves to win after a string of honest performances of late. Has been up a while now which is my only concern. If Shocking comes out and smacks them, the Alcopop bandwagon will bulge even more. Expect the Top 2 to space the field. Drumbeats and Pacino are next in line in what looks to be a skinny 1st leg of the quaddie.
Race 8
1 Viewed
9 Predatory Pricer
17 Vigor
6 Master O'Reilly
Going with Viewed with no great confidence. Tough, open race with many horses with a chance. Sticking with Bart' number 1 distance horse. Despite 57kg, I don't think he's that badly weighted. Predatory Pricer is almost a good thing to run Top 3 and will be my rover in most of my Trifectas. Despite the barrier, I keep looking at Vigor with such a light weight. Has been set for this, and despite barrier and poor run in the Turnbull, I must include. Master O'Reilly to be doing his best work late.
Race 9
4 First Command
6 Eagle Falls
14 More Than Great
9 Phelan Ready
Today you will see the next Australian sprinter to win at Royal Ascot. First Command' ability is yet to be reached. It took one of the best runs in a long time by All Silent to beat him in the Gilgai and should dispose of these comfortably. Unbeaten at track, unbeaten at distance, unbeaten on Dead. Bestbet of the day, anchor in the quad and doubles/parlays. Eagle Falls will be charging home late but will find the fav too slick. More Than Great is an interesting runner. 1st start at the distance but will be risky to dismiss in mulitples. And Phelan Ready, if the track was rain affected I would have rated him much higher. Very versatile chap who will be flying home late.
Race 10
3 Jaalippy
4 Solchow
6 Delyara
8 Glam Slam
Not sure why Solchow is fav when Jaalippy beat in by 2.5l a few months ago. Happy to take the $5.50 fixed as the smart money will hit this late. Solchow next best but will need to continue to improve to challenge top pick. One at odds that has a good record at Caulfield is Delyara. Will definitely include in trifectas and a wide quaddie. Glam Slam will run an honest race, but seems a level below the likely winner.
