Heading along for the 3rd year in a row, hopefully snag the winner this year though

My early picks

Race 1 - Bit of a hard race to kick off with, an above average filly called Devil Moon won the first race here last year. Tough one to line up with the 3YO fillies coming from everywhere, Cluny seems to have some previous form against a couple, although Class Apart gets a slight swing in the weights. Throw Try This and Jaywalk in for a exacta or box tri. 1-3-7-10

Race 2 - Another one Im scratching my head over, the toppie Danedina looks a good sort, although I think the 2 Annamarie is a chance. Edit - have had a good look at the form today and picked one out...Pure Beauty which jumps from gate 1...nice form!
Win 10

Race 3 - My little beauty from the midweekers Kingsford races in this one, coming off his debut win where he was 3 wide all the way. Looks handy - most of the O'Reillys seem to be. I'll be having a crack at 10's. Nine Tales and Blue Sky the danger. Win 8

Race 4 - I'm keen to watch Jabal Tarak go round and see if he can serve it up to Villain before the Derby. I think he will be the only danger. Bammagera and Down Under Boy into the tri. Each Way 5, Box Tri 1-2-4-5

Race 5 - Vormista wins if she holds her form. Looked on an upwards curve if anything to me each run in. Win 2

Race 6 - I am dead keen on Let Go Thommo and am shocked he's at 8's for this. Win 2

Race 7 - Hofmeister is just about to hit some form and will go well again this campaign. Win 1

Race 8 - See the Caulfield Cup thread for my thoughts on each runner, Maldivian will win! Lets just hope there is at least 3's somewhere to top up my longer range bets. Win 8

Race 9 - I'm wary of two down the bottom Lord of the Dance and Fire Hazard who appear to have some sneaky form. Stickpin and Roman Squire at their best. Better throw in Okay Oky otherwise it will stitch me up. A Roy Higgins selection this one
Exacta/Trifecta 2-3-4-14-15

Race 10 - Mistake Creek is 2/2 first up, and looks like it has the most improvement out of all these. The more I look at it the more I like in this.
Win 3

Good luck, don't forget the slip slap slop if youre on the track and see you in the collection queue after the Cup...I hope :thumbsu:

Just a few I like for the day;
  • Pillar of Hercules in the Norman Robinson. Will be suited by this distance.
  • Vormista should just win the Harrolds. Running Double with PoH
  • Fire in the Night in the David Jones. Was on him last prep and thought he'd still be looking for further last start. Proved me wrong and the extra will suit even further.
  • Bianomour in the Jayco Cup. Beat both Zipping and Douro Valley in the Autumn. Can run a cheeky race if it goes forward.
  • Carat Cake in the last

Looks like it's going to be an enjoyable day of racing :)

Not the best punter by any means but after a quick look at races 5 onwards my thoughts are..

Race 5 - Vormista. Fairly dominant performance last time, looks the one.
Race 6 - Let Go Thommo. Like Lockyer said, I find it unbelievable that this thing is at 8's.
Race 7 - Trick of Light. Been on this one last couple starts, think its about ready (or atleast my betting wallet is hoping it is). Wary of King of Ashford, regardless of the last start and Fire in the Night.
Race 8 - Maldivian, but at odds I like Princess Coup and Anamato.
Race 9 - Lord of the Dance. Probably only take it e/w as I am not too sure about this race.
Race 10 - Mistake Creek. Great record first up.

Just one other one for me. Adelaide race 7 - Beaujolang - I put it in the black bookers thread, great bet each way and if its paying over $10 you'll be laughing. Its a very good sort this horse.

Bianomour should win the Cox Plate based on that assessment according to Starz!

Race 3 - Green Mankini - Trainer said he was going for a spell yet here he is backing up. Obviously they think he can take this out.... and to tell you the truth, i think he has these covered.

Race 5 - Vormista - Wow does this horse have a boom or what!!

Race 6 - Lets go Thommo - Hard to miss it flashing home late start, this is easier.

Race 8 - Maldivian - Wins by 12 lengths

Best value bet - Green Mankini :)

R4- Liked Jabal Tarik's effort at Flemington, forced to go forward from 15 & held on well when few leaders did.Headed for the Derby.

R9-I must be insane but I keep coming back to Shinzig.I know he's 1st up but he would eat these if anywhere near his best.
His last 3 have been in the Doncaster (G1),Hollindale (G2) & Stradbroke (G1).$20 is ok.

Also like Molotov coming back from a Gp1 to a Gp3.

Its that sort of day.
