Be nice to have told the members first that she is auctioning off the Tassy games. Early days so lets see what develops but if the club thinks they will just sell off the four games to the highest bidder and not give any back to lthe members she has to be kidding. Doesn't sound like an exit strategy to me.

Everyone laughing a few pages back about trying start a relationship with the 'back water' of far Northern Melbourne to potentially play games in the future.

Not such a horrible idea now we might be looking to play 4 games in far Northern Qld every year lol.

Northern Melbourne or Northern QLD, I know where I'd rather be playing.

Will be Darwin or Perth against a neutral opponent. That will be a thing to alleviate WCE travel watch this space. We stay up there for the week etc.

Trying to sell 4 to the highest bidder but will end up 2.

Won’t be Cairns, GC will take there.

Def won’t be regional Vic.
Perth would be my tip.

From memory we already had an agreement with both WA clubs, but the AFL refused it.

Where has this Northern QLD talk come from?!

Was it Sonja or Jen on ABC yesterday stating that we are going through our exit strategy for Tasmania?

We won’t be bringing the 4 games back to Marvel and are auctioning them to the highest bidder, with Gold Coast/QLD Govt currently most keen?

I got told this today and haven’t heard it.

The club needs to be very very careful with this decision. As we move up the ladder it could provide a competitive disadvantage if we aren’t careful. Queensland or Darwin is not Tasmania. The regular travel and conditions could be crippling to a contending side.

Not to mention the impact on members who have been shafted for a decade.

Ballarat or Regional Victoria has to be the target, not Darwin or Queensland…

If you can get Ballarat or Regional Victoria to cut a cheque for roughly $2.5million, then it's problem solved.

Again, if you can get Hume Council to underwrite it to the tune of $2.5 million per year, plus build a stadium, then we are all set.

In response to myself:

North Melbourne, having lost more than $2 million in revenue due to the lack of games in Hobart, could reap as much as $700,000 by selling the game, despite the WA Government only allowing 50 per cent capacity.

The proposal is with the AFL, who is yet to make a decision.

I imagine our 8k members in WA would like to see this.

Apparently Hawthorn exploring Cairns = we are.
No, I don’t know either

Play Freo/WC away then stay in Perth a week and play the other team as a home game? Rewards our supporter base there, reduces travelling for us and WA teams, increases Melb home games by two and guarantees a good crowd every game. Do that twice a season at double the cost of Hobart games.
Dunno. Just an idea I thought of in 30 seconds, but sounds a lot better than Cairns or Darwin.

But these games can’t be against the Eagles or Dockers
1:Might not be popular choice Collingwood biggest club in the country.
2:A mixture of Sydney/GWS/Crows/Port on Rotation Basis
3:Victorian sides like Melbourne/Geel/St.Kilda/Western Bulldogs on a Rotation basis.
The Western Australian Government will not hand over $$$$$ unless they get 1 big name club to be part of this to play the NMFC.

Take over the Suns’ NT zone and come to Darwin for a couple of weeks. Just make it in late July when the weather is sooooo much better than the soup they played in May.

It’s one lot of travel and we’ll be the only team that’s acclimatised.. make it a mid-year fortress!

Seriously, there were bugger all Suns fans at either game this year, I reckon Territorians would get on board.

I know the feeling mate but stick fat as the club needs supporters mind you the woke part of our club might not understand that.
You got to love the tool who rolls out “woke”, really helps highlight the clowns in the thread.

Interesting. Given how much SA pay all the other clubs for Reacher Round, and given how much the WA teams are whinging about travel, we could really push Freo, Weagles, and the WA govt to put up or shut up.
