On that...

"Fremantle champion Peter Bell is reportedly among the final candidates to become Craig McRae’s right-hand man at Collingwood.

Bell left the Dockers a year after he was replaced as the club’s head of football...

The Herald Sun is reporting Bell is in the mix to replace Graham Wright as the Magpies’ football manager, with an announcement expected in the next fortnight.

Former Sydney head of football Charlie Gardiner and Adelaide list manager Justin Reid are also in the mix.

Wright left the Magpies to become Carlton’s deputy chief executive."
Strange that Collingwood hasn't appointed Peter Bell as CEO. Or that Graham Wright could only get a job as Deputy chief executive. It's almost as if football manager to CEO is not a single step.

Bell has built quite a strong reputation on this board from little observable output. I'd even add some queries over his exit from Freo.

And to revisit my comments on him as a CEO 2 years ago - "why?".

Cameron Joyce has a better cv.

Because?

I must admit i have no idea what the recent mens premiership teams have done at their celebrations.

People were allowed to take photos with the cup back in 96 & 99.

I was lucky enough that my aunt worked at the club back then and had the privilege of taking the premiership cups home, so we got to have photos with it at her place.

They even made a doco about it - 1 Val, 2 Cups.

Whately "Thanks for coming in Jen. What an amazjng achievement, seems like so long ago now but 2 years goes like that?"

Jen (thinking it's an odd statement but assuming he's meaning her start as CEO) "Yes thanks Gerard, but I don't want to make it about me"

Whately "That's fair enough! So, tracking forward 2 years to the present.. how do you feel now... about Geelong's 2022 triumph? Walk us through your feelings?"

Poor bloke has never been the same since Black Caviar rejected his marriage proposal. The cruelest ‘neigh’ that Gerard ever heard.
