Did you miss the vision of him barking at Jacob Koschitzke at 3 quarter time for not kicking to him?

Who'd want a guy like that at the club?

Someone showing passion? Yeah, that would be ****ing awful.

Roughie used to do that too. Coaches have been known to give players a talking to as well. BTW: Kosi in a boxing session concussed Lewis so badly he missed 1 month of football. Maybe Port is all about hugs. Could explain the last 16 or 17 years.

I hope he stays unless we get pick 2 somehow with a bunch of swaps.

When Chad was coming to the club

'Chad is lazy' 'He doesn't even care about footy'

Now he is at the club people are having a go at him for showing passion for the game. Whether they want him or not i don't care but no one inside the Hawks has had a bad thing to say about him, he has been great since coming across. Really good with the younger players specifically.

Wingard is not the sort of player you can build a team around, or the sort of player that can even really be relied upon. He would be a terrible choice for GWS.
Hah, what?

You're actually justifying Wingard's actions on the basis that the young kid got dropped?

Yikes mate.
I’m justifying Chad’s actions on the basis that he was right to tell Kosi to stop taking his man to contests, and halving them for his teammates.

Do GWS have a salary cap? Legit mind boggling

Hawks would offer to pay a chunk of the contract to make it cost GWS less, in exchange for getting a better pick in the draft.

My guess is this would be on the cards for any of our senior players who may not be "worth" top 10 or even top 20 picks, but if they Hawks pay a good part of the salary then the new club would be more inclined to bring them in.

There is passion, and there's barking at a kid like a goddamn moron. Wouldn't want someone like him anywhere near my club, especially a young club that's trying to develop kids.

Just to add to my earlier comment, would you want a player who broke team rules, got badly injured engaging in a club prohibited recreational activity and then lied to the club about it "anywhere near your club"? Cos that player was Ollie Wines. I could cite similar 'incidents' for many of your star players including Warren Tredrea, Gavin Wanganeen, etc.

Telling off Kozi (21 year old man, not a "kid") too vociferously is nowhere near sufficient reason to not want someone "anywhere near your club" (just as the above examples are the same). To make sweeping assertions about someone's character over something so minor is silly IMO. His passion is appropriate, correcting a younger player is appropriate (the actions for which cost Kozi his spot) but the manner in whih he went on was not appropriate. He got corrected and he reigned it in. Everyone moves on.

These can’t be considered elite stats for a mid. So if he is getting rated as a small forward whilst playing mostly midfield then his numbers look better.
“Can’t be relied upon” 😂

He obviously shares his time between midfield and forward. Even if you ignore the 'rating metrics' his numbers are elite. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find any mid-foward with similar stats. I mean, he is the #1 or #2 goal assist player in the league, in a team that badly struggles to kick goals.

Yeh I realise that, but even before this Wingard talk there cap is very sketchy.

Kelly 1m
Cogs 1m
Toby 800k
Whitfield 800k
Haynes 750k
Hopper 750k
Taranto 700k
Harry 650k
Perryman 500k
Taylor 500k
Ward 500k

7,950,000 there abouts for those 11 alone.
Salary cap for 2022 is 13.54m. The remaining 27 players wages will be at an average of 205k, extremely doubtful

That’s not including Ash, Daniels, Cumming, Green,

front ended back ended makes all the difference and maybe some salary sacrifice has taken place, we all just don't know.

Chad has some seriously good footballl left in his career but he needs to be in a top 4-6 side minimum. It may be the Giants but who knows, might be worth the risk if the Hawks are paying a chunk of his salary.

Kelly and Cogs have AFL Ambassador money so its hard to know how much free money is there. They would be saving some money from Mummy retiring and Finlayson leaving, but certainly it must be a very tight.

This could be why they may be okay with Hill moving on and Wingard coming in with Hawks paying salary is on their cards.

Whether its on Wingard's is a completely different story. He seems to be saying he isnt going anywhere. But if he ends up with a 4 year or 5 year offer... it would be food for thought.

Whilst I agree with this, and I am one of the port fans that would love to look at getting chad back to our club, the comment was that he was an icing player and not someone to build a team around, which I also agree with. He isn’t a number 1 mid in a top team, he is a very good mid/forward with elite numbers in that role.
