Yeah I know, just sometime when you point out peoples failings it's hard to take.
Pity they didn't apply the same logic to Ken when they extended his stay at Alberton after poor results and guess what he didn't improve in 2018.
That's the crux of the whole situation as many don't have faith in those making the calls, if we were a successful club with a proven coach & culture this decision would cause less drama.

Dangerfield and Brodie Smith also liked it - which is amusing since Polec is Smith’s friend.
They are probably laughing at it because this is the furtherest in my lifetime Port Adelaide have ever been away from those words. We are not living it in any way and we have been getting worse.

That was back in April 19...back when I believed Wingard was committed to being a good footballer and he was just transitioning into a new role through the midfield.

I’ll put my hand up and say I was wrong about that.

Not Chad's fault he was moved from the middle the year before to a permanent forward round 1.. once he was back in the middle he was out best mid by far. As for our leadership group, who the **** are they? They should all be ranked last.

Ruthless environment? Where's that been the last 5 years?
About time they've bloody started isn't it. 5 years to late I agree, but it had to be done now, or we could've backed this list in again, same shit would've happened and we'd be back here again 12 months later with the same rants and raves, and all of that.

Lots of large corporate organizations do it also. Not that I agree with it, but many do it.
It shows 2 things to me. 1)These standards they talk about are not always good indicators of player output game day.
2) end of year performance appraisals should never be a shock to anyone. The weekly reviews should have made it clear to Chad were he was at.
These 2 players were individuals that we could not manage.
The players we pick will determine if trading them was the right call. I feel more comfortable knowing the decision to trade chad went to board level and that KT met to talk to chad himself.

As sad as it is that Chad is gone, he at the end of the day made the decision to go.

He was asked to up his standards in regards to training this off season, that's a fact by his own admission, that isn't a unreasonable demand by the club and coaches. Also the training standards and what not are going to be a lot higher with Schofield and Montgomery coming in, they are both renowned for it, would Chad have accepted that? That's debatable.

It is apparent the last 2 years that Chad has been coasting, and he chose to leave. It's probably better for both that he has left. There has been a rumour since mid year he bought a property in Melbourne already, so Chad knew what he was doing.

Out of him leaving we got pick 5, pick 15 and a highly rated player in Burton. Rather the alternative of some compensation pick when he left next year as a free agent, I'm happy we have some quality coming in, and with a bit of luck we can get Rankine in and two other quality kids.

It seems lost on a lot of people that the last two off seasons we have cleared out a lot now, and it is by design. Wingard, Polec, Pittard, Trengove, Hombsch, Young, AhChee, Impey, O'Shea and Lobbe are the immediate ones that come to mind. Besides Hombsch who as a person you won't find better, but as a footballer his best has gone by. Evidence of that was the second Showdown this year. Trengove as a person and part of the off field group was a bad move, but in his position Dougal Howard and Clurey have well surpassed him.

In response to the Amon and Neade still on the list, we can't shed them all. They both held no trade currency, so we are likely stuck with both for another year. So be it, can't do much about it.

If Marshall blossoms as he should, and has a good year off the field, we have a star in the making there. Fix SPP up, Farrell has some quality, the kids from the draft, plus Burton, Mayes, and Lycett in we have some weapons, on top of Robbie, Charlie, Motlop, Wines and Hammer back in. I feel we will have to rely on our team work, and get a good team gameplan going to win games, but that's what we have now.

We aren't in the position of woe some are proclaiming, nor are we up the top of the ladder yet. We have gotten ruthless with the list, and it's about time.
good post

P.S I’m not sure why people love to quote my posts out of context...
Sorry i can't let this one go through to the keeper.

Probably because we are not all smoking whatever it is that you are and the context that you have going on in your head is different to the context that we read in your posts which are revisionist bullshit and just plain batshit f***ing crazy. I hope that has cleared that up for you.
