It might be reasonable if they thought they would only be doing Polec and Lycett. But they were dangling Chad out as chum for a while and practically begged him to pick a club. That they did that and sent Davies, Hinkley and Voss OS for the crucial part is ****ing incompetence upon incompetence.

There would be a good book on how this year has gone down.

I was just about to post this. It basically says we get burton, pick 15 and “possibly something else” for wingard, and we move our pick 6 to pick Brisbanes pick 5 for Hombsch via a convoluted set of trades.so we end up with 5, 10, 15, burton and possibly something else.

Could live with that. We'll get a top 3 pick next year when we finish 16th

Let’s keep Chad & steal Burton off those skid stains. Screw M !!

Personally, I would have already counter offered by offering pick 85 for Burton.

Kind of shoving their offer up their proverbial publically

But clubs dont do this because the potential employer pool is too small

Is it true that Burton wants a 5 year contract ? If so how could Port agree to this when Polec was denied more than 3 years. Both players have injury issues but with Polec we knew exactly how to deal with it, Burton is another story, medical or not.
Its ridiculous.

The Polec push out was an epic disaster of list management.

In essence as that’s written I can’t see how Wingard/Burton/15 gets involved. But there is a suggestion it still may be Burton/15 plus a bit.

There is an element suggesting 6+Hombsch for 5. But that suggests G/C hold 5 already...... so that would suggest Brisbane’s 5 has done the rounds of the country to get to G/C and that G/C then flick it to us for 6 and Hombsch.

That sounds sus to me, I reckon G/C are only doing that if their third selection is a player we aren’t after - basically meaning they get Hombsch for free.

The problem with this whole scenario is that Wingard is probably one of the highest credentialed players listed and we aren’t getting into the top 6 for him yet lesser players are. Would you take May or Wingard for instance.

All the while giving away yet another player in Hombsch for a one place upgrade. We had definitely better get something more from Hawks. Burton 15 and a one place pick upgrade from 6 to 5 for both Wingard and Hombsch. No thanks.

Perhaps the club was concerned for their safety

Polec was not wanted at the club. Passively managed out the door. Same as Chad.
