Regardless of your opinion of Wingard, it's not a good look for club-affiliated media personalities to be piling on like this in the public realm.

Severe lack of controlling the message at Port, for quite some time now. KT, I'm looking squarely at you.
I suspect that at least some people at the club would be quite happy with Tredders' message. Whether or not that includes KT, I really don't know.

4 goals in that accursed Showdown while Wines misses the sealer from 15m out trying to be Steve Johnson, too. And was a major part of the difference between us winning and losing against Carlton in Melbourne for a third straight time.

The whole "he didn't do this/that" is pretty funny.

Chad's floor > Randoms' best.
But he isn't in the weights room in the off season ChadBro-ing. Beach muscles>>> Football skills.

One thing Tredders had were the highest of training standards.
Tredders and his team achieved our Only AFL Premiership.
I don’t think his tweet was offensive.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Chad and am devastated he has left us. Really devastated..

What got my back up a bit was that Chad was happy to say that at Hawks he will work harder and apply himself to achieve success there rather than be willing to meet the standards at the club he was drafted into and apparently loved.

Plenty on here are demanding PAFC be the Port of old aren’t they? So does Tredders.

Just because we all love Chad and hate to lose him doesn’t mean Tredders is wrong here.
Perhaps the timing is a bit off but it doesn’t bother me.
Are other former players ganging up on Chad? Which ones?
Whether The Chad continues to work hard on his game after the sting of being traded wears off will be interesting to see

Let's not forget that it was Richie Vandenburg who is widely credited for starting the Hawks turn around.

They got the culture right first. Not by promoting the most talented footballer but by promoting one who was willing to live up to the standards required to be a winning club.

The talent came later and were forced to buy into the culture established.

Chad also said he was happy to work on everything that the club thought he needed to work on.

Wingard was earmarked for trade months ago due to the club’s obsession with getting deep inside the top 10 of this draft. Considered expendable but of high value the thought was he’d fetch at least a top 10 pick and maybe even something in the top 5.
Through absolute ineptitude on the club’s part his market value plummeted and things got past the point of no return.
Now they’re trying to spin the whole thing as “He wanted out, we’d only have lost him next year as a restricted free agent”......”his asking price is too high”.......”he’s a slack trainer who refused to deliver on some non-negotiable standards”.
This is all on the club. Yet here we are witnessing the character assasination of Chad Wingard in order to save some face.

He didn't have to leave.

I know some people are drawing clear lines between sides here but it I can see fault on both the club and Chad. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Chad also said he was happy to work on everything that the club thought he needed to work on.

Didn’t Kane Cornes say the opposite to that ? (Not that I necessarily belive him)

Clearly someone is lying, all I know for certain is if Chad really wanted to stay he would have becouse he was contracted. Not sure we will ever know the truth, but if we was prepared to why would they force him out ? Chad improving and going to the next level and dragging the side with him could very well be the difference between Ken swing his contract out and having it terminated so surley they wouldn’t force him out unless he is creating serious problems, which goes back to why it has never been dealt with previous to trading him.

where has his character been assassinated by the club, you are the one casting dispersion about the club, there is no way the club would let him leave if they felt there wasnt something else going on or he wasnt going next year, and all along they said chad had a contract and will stay unless he wants to leave.
Chad did have a contract and they couldn't force him out the door, but there are things that can make it very difficult to stay no matter how much you might want to.

Oh mate, if only it was that simple. You forget all the draft picks they received from finishing bottom and good recruiting. We used the same argument you just espoused to make cassisi captain over burgoyne, we know how that turned out.

Still keen to see what the record is for losing games you're favourite for over a 5-year period. If we're not first I'll sell my sweet anus to one of those sheiks in a Taken auction.

I ran the numbers, although don't take this as gospel just on my own records. Sorry for the formatting, seems to ignore my spaces.

I’m more confident that he’ll do nothing against us. He did nothing against everyone else.
