Still in shock! Everyone was brilliant with the exception of the moronic act of JT. I feared the worst when Cahill was off for Bosingwa but every time I thought game over somehow things fell our way.

Di Matteo must be the resurrection of Christ himself

David Alaba, Philipp Lahm, Thomas Muller, Toni Kroos, Luiz Gustavo, Holger Badstuber and Jerome Boateng for Bayern. Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso for Madrid...

Ramos, surely.

Fairly sure there was a list doing the rounds a couple of days ago.

See above for edit. Will be interesting to see who if anyone goes out.

As much as I don't like Chelsea, I am very happy that no team will have successfully defended their UCL crown for another year. Well done.

Has to be said, Abramovich would be absolutely out of his mind not to appoint Di Matteo full time now. Before AVB was sacked they were a rubble. Now they're in two finals and a chance to get a top 4 spot.

Cheers.

Here's hoping for a Bayern victory then. :)

I reckon these last 3 games have highlighted the importance of David Villa to the Catalans. His ability to finish is second to none and if it was him on the end of a few of those balls we might be looking at a different result.

Not to be though!!

Whoever wins out of Real/Bayern will be pleased with this morning's result.

funny, cos so many people said barca fans will be happy to go against chelseam with most score predictions being barca to win by over 2 or 3 goals of agg.

great win by chelsea, that finish by ramires was absolute class, most players wouldn't dream of attempting that while on the sprint, great vision! great pass from lamps too

Is that the arses of thousands of Spurs, Geordie and maybe Arsenal fans I see twitching.

Cant see Chelsea winning the final regardless who against. But then again I couldnt see them getting past Barca either.

Remember this is Arsenal we're talking about, if there's a way to stuff something up they'll find it.

Where's the farca fans not here to lecture all on football for a change ;)

Which Barca fan on here does such thing?

What's there to say? We did enough over the 2 legs to win (although we looked very tired in the 2nd half this morning, but that's perfectly understandable) but were just very unlucky. I'm happy with the team's attacking performance overall.

Congratulations to Chelsea though, hope you win in Munich as well now :thumbsu:

Looks like Barca's cycle is coming to an end. Xavi getting old, Puyol not the player he was. Valdes looking suspect in goal. Although you have to say that had Messi put away the penalty, it would have been a landslide in Barca's favour.

Not just the missed penalty - I reckon especially the misses at Stamford Bridge decided the outcome.

Good call on those players, although I don't believe this is the end of the cycle. There are still plenty of young players there (Pique, Busquets, Thiago, Cesc, Messi, Sanchez...) who can go on for years. Iniesta still has plenty of years in him too. Xavi just needs more rest during the season from now on.

At the back we need an addition or two, coz Puyol probably has had his best years. We never really got over losing Abidal either, shown by playing Puyol as a leftback in Milan. I can't remember him ever playing there before. And without Pique we look like a rabble really.

Valdes has had a few good years recently but was absolutely useless this week. If you don't count Drogba's shot from around the halfway line, I think every shot on target over the 2 legs has gone in. On the weekend also he just left a massive hole for CR to put the ball in.

I wanted to play Bayern actually, but that was because I thought Chelsea was going to be stronger at Stamford Bridge.

If we wouldn't have been so unlucky, we probably would've gone through by 2 or 3 goals on aggregate. Just imagine Sanchez' ball dropping in instead of hitting the bar in the first 15 minutes in London. Would've been a completely different tie.

Anyway, bad luck, move on. Best of luck to Chelsea :thumbsu:

Completely disagree with Messi being jaded already. He's a completely different character from Ronaldinho anyway, he's much more committed and professional.

Messi looked tired at times, especially this morning, but that may be because of his gastro (he didn't train the day before the match because of that).

Chelsea defended very well on him, had him crowded as soon as he got near the area, yet he still managed to create some great chances. Some of the double passes in between a zillion Chelsea defenders were sublime - he just didn't take his chances.

Ronaldinho literally couldn't give a **** anymore after the CL win in Paris. Messi is an example to all his teammates - they say so themselves.

still need to get past munich. cant believe how underrated they are. lahm and alaba were superb in defence, robben and ribbery are smart, quick and know where the goals are, and of course there's gomez. i fancy them to get through.

You're joking right?, He was continuously beaten at the Allianz, it was mostly his fault Real got the away goal

lol at all these people writing Barca off.

Have to agree with this, you don't write off the best team in the world over the last 3 or so years just like that.

And when you think about it, Barcelona should have beaten Chelsea anyway. They hit the cross-bar 3 times at the Bridge, got to 2-0 up at home in the 2nd leg when Chelsea had 10-men and Messi missed a penalty, so they had their chances but it just isn't their season.
