Hey I love the bump and love how Buddy plays but geez he should know by now, he has been reported and Missed games from the same thing over and over again, simple fact is he has to stop bumping and start tackling he will go coz it's Buddy and his record is now F$$@&$

There's always one.

So what did Murphy do wrong this week?

It's just amazing to know that if Murphy played the same game Stratton did and gave away 1.5 everyone would be calling for his head and claiming that it was only luck the stopped Murphy from giving away 6 goals straight.

Even dumber statement considering we just lost Brown.

OUT: Franklin, Brown & Hooper
IN: Bateman, Ladson & Breust

Murphy cost us the first 3 goals FOR **** SAKE are you people blind.

Tom Murphy does not deserve to be on an AFL list... I do not have anything against him... he does try his best but his best simply is not good enough.

Did Smith not do the job on Gilham? I'm pretty sure Gilham has closed the gap on Murphy!!

I'd like to see Lilse come in. Someone has to replace Franklin that keeps our structure the same.

Agree. Structure is the most important thing. There's a coach in the NBA, who if he loses a gun player, will replace that player with anyone (even a third tier player) and start him on the court purely to keep structure. It allows every other player to play their natural game. I think that's what have to do now.

I just need to get this out there,
Beau Dowler has played 6 games for BH this year,
he has kicked 5 goals and been named in the best only once,
i recognise he was a first round pick,
but we need to realise that he has not fulfilled his potential,
if buddy does go, he is not the man to fill his spot,
personally, i think we should use him a trade bait at the end of the season,
he hasnt shown enough work ethic to warrant selection and its a poor reflection on him personally given the fact that buddy has missed weeks and roughy has been in the worst form of his career,
i am sick of ppl talking up dowler to come in based in where he was selected in the draft, give up on him and move on

Hi everyone - popping my posting cherry here.

I've noticed a few people in this thread suggesting that Rick Ladson should come in next week. Could somebody (anybody?) please explain to me exactly what Rick has done to warrant a recall?

It may sound crazy, but I think I'd actually prefer Thomas Murphy to Rick Ladson..

With out Brown for a while Lado adds experiancecin our back line wether we want him in or not he must come in to replace Brown!

Even though he has done nothing to warrant it? I'd prefer players to be selected based on merit, rather than length of time spent on our list.

As for replacing Brown, Ladson is the polar opposite of him. He is soft, consistently shirks the contest, can't lay a tackle to save himself, refuses to be accountable for his man, and his much-vaunted disposal has been decidely average since returning from injury. (end rant)

If we lose Brown, Buddy and Hooper then Changa, Muston and Shiels would be my 'ins'. Depending on the makeup of the Power forwards Shoey is an outside chance to add to the mix.

Tough to see where the goals are going to come from, fingers crossed Roughie finds some form.

Absolutely right re Murph. Lot of people round here are like broken records calling for Murph out and, elsewhere, for Dowler to come in. neither will happen any time soon.

Murphy shouldn't be dropped on his form recently, has had good disposal and has been able to shut down an opponent. that's all we need from him, also if we replace him in the team we need to do so with a player who can do his job, not a rebound type. i don't know if we have another player who can play tall or small and attempt to shut down that player ( now brown is injured ).

Ins From- Shoenmakers, Shiles, Bateman, Ladson, Muston
Outs- Buddy(Maybe), Brown

i think Hooper will get up and we rested him last quarter just to make shore noting arks up. Aka Guerra a few rounds ago.

Outs:
Franklin (Susp.)
Brown (Inj.)
Hooper (Inj.)

Ins:
Schoey
One of Shiels / Muston
Bateman

I haven't taken the time to throw it onto a team sheet & see how they line up but I would consider the below 2 options for this week:

- Hodge plays in the backline to cover the loss of Brown's experience; defensive skill; rebound; & desperation.

- Schoey plays as a Forward.

Terrible comments all round,

Shiels did not play for BH.- No

Shoey cannot and should not play forward.

Bring Laddo in...Musto has never done anything.

If Buddy is out give Lisle a go...looked ok at BH

Big Kris

Trengove is 197cm
Carlile is 192cm (98kg)
Cornes is 192cm & reads the play very well
Chaplin is 196cm

We need some height up forward & Roughy (seemingly) isn't in the mood to run / lead. I can't see how bringing Lisle in on debut against the above 4 is in any way an option - despite your remarks that he looked ok for Box Hill....

Therefore Schoey may be an option as a Forward, especially as he played there for his whole life prior to starting with us.

If we can't bring the ball to ground then the 4 big defenders they have will rebound it all day long. We have the small forwards to dominate their big guys once the ball is on the ground but nobody to compete in the air.

As for Hodge playing in the backline when Campbell Brown was playing elsewhere - August & September 2008 ring any bells??? Check out some of our September games, in particular that Geelong game - the precedent has been well & truly set I would suggest; and with fairly good results.
