Changes for Gold Coast

I'm not sure about that, most teams played 2 (Geelong had 3) rucks over the weekend and the ones that didn't all had capable big men that could give their ruckman a rest, we have no one!

Reality is I'm sure Sandilands can handle 1 game of footy by himself!

Geelong played Zac Smith who is a tall forward pinch hitter, Stanley who is a true ruck and Blicavs who is a tall Athlete who can run and ruck all week but is played as a hulking midfielder

In reality, if you look over the stats of round 1, only a few teams really played 2 traditional rucks. Freo, Carlton, West Coast (if you call Lycett a ruck) and Sydney (Tippett and Sinclair). Out of WC and Sydney, Tippett and Natanui took 95 percent of the bounces and their secondary rucks took the throw ins in the forward 50.

Winning the tap isnt as important as winning the ball, some teams sacrificed the tap with Faith in the midfield as a clean tap is beginning to be such a rare and pointless contest as fiercer midfields evolve. Hell even Collingwood made Cloke ruck (miserably ).

I like the changes, but the omission of Taberner is a poor one. Can't just back the kid in for one game, especially as he is such a confidence player, poor decision, hes suppose to be our future forward and help allow Pavlich to be rested this year. If he really wanted to make a statement, he should of dropped one of Mayne/Ballas/Barlow or even C. Pearce. Everything else, I'm happy with.

Is a confidence player like a confidence man? You know you're not supposed to fall for them, right, no matter how desperate or credulous you are?

IF this is a rebuild year, we should really be pumping as many games into Taberner with Pavlich and without Pavlich as we can. So I find the decision to drop him strange.

The rest of the changes were expected. As for Clancee... This should be his last chance. Seriously.

I highly doubt anyone at the club sees this as a rebuild year. Pav wouldn't have gone around again if the plan was anything but win the flag.

One horrendous loss doesn't change that. If we get to Round 8 and we're 2-6 that might change but for now they'll be looking to get back on the horse and win.

Happy with the changes, just hope they give the young guys a chance and don't just revert to the same old players the following week if they don't shine straight away.

Tabs out is strange though.

Rumours that he will be delisted in 2017 with croz if both not playing well with peel, or being trade if there is a team that want them.

If Zac Smith (16 hitouts) is a forward ive never seen (or played as) a ruckman in my life, he averages 19.6 hitouts per game over his career.

GWS had Mumford and Lobb
Bombers had Luey and McKernan
Hawks had McEvoy and Pittonet

Collingwood made Cloke ruck because the useless prick had 0 possessions at half time. They are trying Corey Gault forward/ruck (much like Zac Clarke) but if he fails will go back to the Witts and Grundy combo.

9 teams, not so much "most" teams as i previously stated, but North have Ben Brown and Richmond have Vickery and Griffith who are at least, as good as Zac Clarke in the ruck.

Winning the tap may not be important to other teams but go and have a look at the weekends game to see how important it is to The Fremantle Dockers.

I seriously not too worried about playing one ruckman with kpd and kpf doing a bit of ruck. If we struggle against GC , we will learn from it. Playing two ruck like last week is just waste of space with the new rule.

Ok RTB has had his April fools joke. The late changes are
Langdon, Pearce and Weller out for De Boer, Silvagni and Griffin.
After going to peel website and saw the line up , very possible Halfbaked.

I'm really really happy about these changes for this game. I think already the team looks much much more mobile and quicker than last weeks game, I suppose the proof will be in the pudding however. This is probably my preffered line up for the year and then bringing in Bennell obviously once fit. If Weller and Langdon can get a fair run and it and get themselves in to form then I think they will both be hard to drop.

From this lineup who does everyone see Bennell coming in for? the obvious replacements would be Langdon and Weller, however if they can hit their straps who of the experienced players do you think would go out?

Mora will take Clancee's spot.
Bennell to take Sube's spot.
Yarran eventually to challenge Mayne.

Hopefully no late changes. I am excited to see Weller, A.Pearce and Langdon all getting around the park. It's going to be quite refreshing.

Probably one of Clancee or Suban for Bennell. More likely Clancee. Suban is obviously in the team to piss opposition players off into biting him.

Fyfe is also miles better in the air. Probably the best controller of the ball in the air as a midfielder I've ever seen. I'd also say Fyfe is also stronger in the contested situation, though Danger is right up there too of course.

All that's based on fully fit Fyfe, which we don't have right now. I think Danger will have a better year. Fyfe is coming off an ordinary pre-season to say the least, and history shows that a poor pre-season makes a big difference in this league.
Dangerfield probably jogs faster than Fyfe runs though :p

Suban, Clancee or Barlow.

In fact as soon as Blakely is ready he comes in for one of these guys too
