Question, why would you start someone like Masto, who can deliver a laceout chest mark inside 50.
Compared to Hutchings,

I don't completely disagree with it given recent game time.
Just would like to know other peoples mindset behind this decision.

I would consider Hutch (Sub).
Then again, I'm not too sure what he'd offer in the 3rd/4th when you'd usually use the sub.

Mitchell sits at the back of the stoppage similar to gaff we saw in the qual final if you pressure him he just bombs it down the line without looking

The only reason I don't want Masto to start is because he is not as good defensively as Rosa. We need to start really well and bring massive amounts of pressure and I don't think Masto is up to it. He will be valuable when when the Hawks start to tire, his run could prove to be decisive late in the last. At least that is my thinking.

So glad this conversation gets to stop next season 4 on the bench is so much better

So essentially for the sub it's coming down to experience vs running power/niggles. Ellis/Butler/Rosa/Masten. I can't make my mind up.

Any other candidates besides I think Cripps is the only other one mentioned? No way for Cripps imo.

Because we want to win the game so if he is deemed the best option then you go with it.
Sorry. I did also mean that I don't particularly think he should play regardless. Hutch and Rosa have played run with roles in the past with pretty good results.

Hutchings played as sub a couple of times earlier in the season. Notwithstanding his great game against Hawthorn, he could be a possible candidate.

I'm not sure Masto has ever played the sub role before....that is my major query....
I remember he was the sub when we beat the Bulldogs by 123 points in 2011. Came on at the end of the third quarter and had 12 touches and a goal. Long time ago though.
