I’ve earned the ire of my partner and stuck with the Pies mate.

Gonna be supporting all 23 of our blokes tomorrow but if push comes to shove, and Coxy has to kick 10 on Browny for us to win, I’m on the Cox bandwagon.

True, although if we have both Reid and Moore available, then one of them plays defence. That compounds the absence of Langdon and Maynard as well. We've been hit pretty hard, although it's more the norm now. Mihocek is also an option, as is McLarty if we think we are undersized. The Saints are missing some talls as well, so I don't think height will be an issue for us this week.

Fair enough key defender depth is is pretty good. But when you look at general defender depth we've had to go in first gamer in Appleby then move Varcoe from the forwardline to the backline. There's pretty much no one else (Smith and Oxley aren't good enough to be considered depth imo). Maybe Murphy but he's probably not ready.

Also Goldsack's injury doesn't help.

Don’t think it’s a case of “1 swallow” — surely he’s been good all year.

Happy to agree to disagree. He's had good patches (1st half v Richmond) and ordinary patches (2nd half v Richmond) and it's the lack of consistency and the vast difference between his good and his ordinary that he needs to resolve. The 1 swallow was acknowledgement that this year he's had that 1 4 quarter game against the Bears. We need to see more of that or I for 1 will start to think it was the free flowing unaccountable nature of the game that aligned with his preferences rather than him stepping up. He started pretty ordinarily against the Cats but was working his way back into the game when injured so I'll continue to watch to see what he brings this week. The way the Saints play should suit him.
