Without reading the entire Bulldogs' faithful response to finding out Keith won't make it to the line.... I thought I'd precariously add my thoughts....

First of all..... utterly devastated.... Keith is up there with the most important players in out team........... But with the inclusion of Martin, I believe it could possibly outweigh the loss of Keith and more importantly, I believe we're in a better position when we were able to get passed Port.

The best footy we've played all year is with both Martin and English in the team. With Martin playing, our midfield dominance would relieve the defenders to a large extent. If this continued for the prelim, Keith loss would be felt less than it would be without Martin's inclusion. Bevo could plan a more attacking setup, relieving our backline, negating the loss of Keith.

Fingers crossed we get passed Port, then both Martin and Keith are available and we're then up to our eyeballs in premiership goodness!!! Go Dogs!!!

Agree with this. Keath the better player, but feel like right now, Martin is more important and more valuable to how we play. Ideally we have both, but not the end of the world to have Martin and not Keath

We're in a Prelim. A Prelim...do people really think we'll just turn up our toes and concede because of one player? Course not. Martin is a massive in. The middle is where it will be won and we have a massive, massive chance to do that. Deny Port forward entry and keep it down our end.

All silliness aside. I am genuinely worried about our tall defenders without the angry PE teacher. Last time 2 meter Peter kicked 7. Gardner and Cordy scare the crap out of me.

Hope our mids absolutely smash theirs to compensate.

Did you see the delivery to Wright? Their mids just walked the footy to him. Obviously we need to defend well but it’s on our mids this week.

True, but we have so ripping 'small' defenders. Caleb, Williams, Duryea, Wood can do a job, Dale. We'll be OK.

We have such a versatile backline, remember it plays as a unit. Pressure at the contest to keep Ports ball movement forward slow is key.

We have Wood/Williams/Duryea all really good at leaving there man to chop out.

Also we might be going with the 4 key/marking forwards in Naught/English/Schache/Hannah.

Must win it at the contest

Must limit Aliirs impact

Must defend as a team

Duryea to Fantasia
Gardner to Dixon
Cordy to Ladhams
Williams to Marshall
Wood to Gray/Rozee

I’d also like to send Dunks to Boak or Wines.

Agree our best efforts early

Agree our best footy was early in the season with Martin/English in the side, what also should b the e considered in those wins that CORDY was not in the side, this is the worst possible scenario, our best backman out to be replaced by our worst, let's hope I am wrong.

Keath hurts, but at least we have both Cordy and Gardner available.

Martin is a risk but it’s worth it. Young would likely be mauled. As long as he competes hard and play 60% it’ll be worth it.

Not as worried about Weightman. I’d rather have him but if JJ is switched on and pegs a goal or two I don’t think we lose a lot.
