T
I noticed Saturday night that Mihocek got a lot of seperation from Barrass on the lead, so Schofield will be a handy in, has the pace to defend a bit better on the quicker talls
Tom Cole spent more time on Mihocek than Tb did. Tb was mainly on Cox and De goey. He match de goey on the lead pretty well.

I don’t think we lose that much with Schofield replacing Shep .....Shep is awesome don’t get me wrong but our defense held up well without him against pies nimble forward line
That's right, one down and they shuffled the decks and managed...so Schoey will be the obvious inclusion with more momentum leading up to finals than Nelson, and has stood up when required in recent games..

Not that we have much choice but if memory serves, we never do well playing 3 tall defenders that actually stay in defence all game.

Duggan wont be dropped at this point in the season. That said, he absolutely needs the acid put on him this week.

He's not offering a huge amount defensively, and his kicking varies from ok to an out and out liability. That kick in he put straight on the full in the last quarter could have changed the game.

Guys like Sheed and Jetta who we roast often have stepped up the last couple of weeks. Masten has been ok and playing his role. Hell, even though Venebles didn't get a lot of the ball he applied lots of defensive pressure and laid 7 tackles.

Whilst i wouldnt exactly be tossing Duggan under the bus if i was Simpson, he needs to offer more, its been way too long between him having a good game. I think all that needs be said that if we get up in the preliminary final, that his spot in the best 22 isn't an absolute guarantee.

Lets hope the kid can put in a big game in a fortnight.

Duggan was the guy who had the match winning tackle on Adams when Collingwood were nearly away ,watch the replay before Jetta kicks the goal ..Jetta gets the spillage as the Collingwood plays were streaming fwd ..
Duggan nailed that tackle and was good all night ..So stays in ..

No one will be dropped, but he is making costly mistakes, needs to improve.

For all their other current shortcomings, you just have to love how well Venables and Duggan tackle.

They look like they’ve had NN training them. They drive them in to the ground through the side of the body.

Very impressive and good signs for the future

Apart from his kick from out of bounds that never actually came into the field of play and ended up in the crowd, I don't remember any others from him this week.

Everyone needs to improve if we really nitpick everything that anyone does ..

We beat the pies, with only a few players playing really good football, we have a lot of improvement in us still. Hopefully we can re-capture the form that saw us win ten games in a row. A lot of players have another level in them still.

Did you see Gov handball straight to Stevenson who then proceeded to kick the goal ..Wow imagine if that was Jetta or Masten or Duggan ..

I remember one other hack kick forward that fell short and was intercepted with relative ease. Think it was in the third

keep wanting to see that ruthless skilled game they brought against tigers at optus, to see that level..?
but I realise that finals pressure combined with opp. tactics against us won't allow our style/space to happen as much as we'd like...just a mad flooding scramble to get the ball forward anyway possible.

Ball movement is the area we can improve on the most i feel, control the game with more short kicks and marks and play fast football when needed.

I reckon all the boys have a few extra gears to get to. Hopefully the next 2 games everyone improves.

Yeah. Guess the opposition are wanting the same

Lets just hope we get past Haw/Melb with no more injuries leading into the GF.
