We are developing a habit of playing our nemisis in Grand Finals. The last 3 forms a trend. 2011 it was Geelong, 2018 the Eagles and now 2023 the Lions. Lost all H&A games in these years and finals up until now. We never get the "easy kill" do we? Always so ******* hard. I really don't know how we turn around a 6 goal and 4 goal loss. I hope McFly has a strategy or maybe just a couple of Aces up the sleeve somewhere!

The Bears are a good side who have earned respect, as are GWS.

Don't fear them.

This Pie group march to the beat of their own drum. I'm certain they don't feel any dread about facing the Bears in the GF next week; or any other side.

This is an opportunity for a number of players to create a legacy of their career.

Cox - probably playing for the most here. First American to win a premiership. Would be huge for him, his podcast and the game
Daicos and Daicos - continue the legacy of their father
Ginni - the scandal and the drama could all be hushed if he wins a flag
Pendles and Sidey - dual premiership winners, the former to go down as one of the greatest
De Goey - redemption.
Moore - legacy.
Maynard - After Sheed and the Brayshaw drama, something to go his way.

There would be more out there as every player who wins a flag leaves a legacy. But these are the ones who stand out.

Howe has been back to near his best of late, I wouldn’t want to mess with things by playing him forward.

Tell me you’re a Kreuger man then, and not someone who wants to kick long to Ginnivan please!

With all the efforts to honour the Fitzroy heritage, I'm surprised they don't honour the Bears more.

So I’m for not changing our backs at all, they are a well drilled machine. As for Dan, it’s like for like that’s why Krueger comes in for me. His latter season form in the VFL was good and to be honest Billy is not a forward he’s a back/ruck, Freddy can play the spot like McStay. I don’t think Lipinski will be dropped if Adams is not fit but I’d actually bring in Fin for Lipinski but I’m fan of Fin so maybe I’m biased. Let’s face it I could play a better game than Lipinski did last night.

We’ve got to “mess with things”.

We’ve just lost one of our two key tall forwards and with AJ also injured, have no Finals-worthy replacements. And we’ll need to kick at least 12 goals to win.

But we DO have a proven tall defender (Frampton) who can be brought in and a proven swingman in Howe who we can move forward.

Surely that’s better than bringing in Krueger or McInnes as replacements, who will likely have to be subbed out for having no impact?

You…you do know both teams start the game at zero yeah?

Don’t think I would be referring to Frampton as a proven tall defender. Not sure what will happen with the forward line but the backs won’t be changed.

Agree with not changing the backs but you do need an option to add some extra height in Defence if required. Frampton in for me.

Krueger is not like for like with any one that plays regular football. He can’t see out a game without getting injured and has shown nothing. Unlucky but that’s reality, the coaches won’t pick him.

It’s annoying as they have been hitting their straps as a ruck duo, but one of Cox or Cameron need to play forward to replace McStay.

In Adams
Out McStay

Bit of dirty ball forward might be our friend.

I don't think I'd play Ginnivan against the Lions. Doesn't work hard enough defensively and isn't switched on enough to stop their chip mark game. WHE forward as he has the workrate
Seems like a myth that Ginnivan doesn't work hard defensively, despite your routine perpetuating of it. He works hard and is often in the right spots at the right time

Frampton can play fwd , back and Ruck he’s the best versatility we have, and prefect in these circumstances.
We don't need someone who is versatile. We need a forward and Billy looked completely at sea when they tried him there. Having been tried and struggled in a position, doesn't make you a versatile player for that position.
