I think the argument would be that he was careless to attempt that sort of smother in the first place , airborne with such forward momentum, heading straight towards his opponent.

Anyway it will be what it is, I’m not going to get hung up over it and neither will the club. I back them to argue his case strongly then win or lose they will get back to work without any fuss.
You're just what every tainted democracy needs - a man with selective rear vision and an eye to the future. ;)

After rewatching the game, I'd almost trust WHE in that role and reinstate Noble. Not that I for one millisecond want to consider Maynard suspended.

Absolutely. If Maynard gets suspended ( and I’m thinking he won’t) , then WHE is the ideal replacement with Noble returning to the 22 to be in the backline rotations

The past is irrelevant in context of the present. His form line has been ok but not great recently, and outside of one moment on Thursday when he kicked a goal he was largely a non factor. He needs to step up.

I think his performance on Thursday night get dinged because he had a few kicks where clearly, he was trying for chaos balls early when it was still wet, and they were commented upon as though they were mis-kicks.

Maybe Oleg keeps that spot and Frampton comes in for Maynard, particularly against Brisbane’s Daniher/Hipwood combo?

The situation with Noble is hard to read; if it were merely possessions they were after, then this sort of outing may help, but one suspects it might be more about his one on one contests.

Also possible but I think the backline looks too tall with Murphy Moore Howe and frampton.

Besides I can put money on the fact we aren’t playing Brisbane in the prelim.

The key options are as follows

whe plays defence and noble comes in
Whe plays defence and noble doesn’t come in
Frampton comes in to add height
Ruscoe comes in as the best like for like maynard replacement

He had a real nice contest late in the match where he leaped to spoil a certain goal. But overall, the match itself was pretty bruise free so it was hard to know what to take from it tbh

Ever since all that talk of extending OS holiday time during his suspension, and the suspension itself, his intensity and/or form have dropped away. He needs to be at the top of his game for us to win a premiership.

The only talk about the holiday extension was you bitching about it, and then it turned out that the “extension” was like 2 days and completely irrelevant, just like it is now.

Just having some fun knowing you or someone of your ilk wouldn't be able to resist the bait.

He did hurt his knee a little early in the game.
2 weeks off and he'll be ready to go bang in the prelim

I’m more concerned with Jordy. He needs to be more influential as a top line mid.

He does, and I expected more from him on Thursday night. He has two more games to cement his status.

Jordy's 28 next year. If he wants to become a superstar, he doesn't have much time left. The "breakout" season we've been promised since 2018 hasn't quite happened. He's a good footballer. He's not a Brownlow contender, though, and that's the difference between him and Petracca (same class).

I’d rather play Port than GWS on current form from both.
Since round 12, GWS have been the second most in form team only behind Carlton. They’re a formidable opponent. They also just got to play the G and convincingly won.
Hopefully, we'd be able to use our crowd numbers to our advantage. GWS had good numbers yesterday against St Kilda but the proportion would shrink against us.

I expect Carlton to easily account for Melbourne, play Brisbane in the PF.

We don't need to play the two rucks against either GWS or Port.
Out: Cox/Cameron
In Daicos.
Noble for Maynard if that happens.
Swap Ginnivan for McCreery as sub.
We do against Brisbane in a grand final. Not sure it’s ideal or one to miss the prelim given the lack of footy in recent weeks??

On what basis? Flogged by gws, fell over the line against the swans.

Outside of curnow they lack scoring similar to Melb.

agreed which is why I actually prefer Frampton in for Cameron, Frampton Plays back takes the biggest forward freeing up Moore, Howe than plays Fwd and plays a more negating key fwd role, and Mcstay plays 2nd ruck.

The hyphen can even fill in coming to the defence of his team mates!!

Agree with WHE playing that role. He’s the one to replace him if needed. Nick comes in and plays his half back role. Can’t see Noble getting back in even still.

I don’t want to hear any talk of Carlton winning again, I don’t want to hear talk of Melbourne winning for that matter, I’m good with Carlton losing, I’m good with Melbourne losing.

Don’t think we need to reinvent the wheel this late in the year. I’d be sticking with Cameron, perhaps off the sub bench
