I think the only change will be Lipinski out for Naicos.

I'd be surprised.

Watching the replay and first half in particular, other than the fumble in the middle, Lipinski had some good moments. Not a lot of moments, but some good ones. The fumble in the middle wasn't great but you can't hold everything against a player.

Was talking to some media at the scratch match and they agree the obvious seems to be
Nick for Lippa
Ginni to continue as sub

The media likely know less about our team selection than posters on here, bar maybe Gabelich.

Lipinski is a good chance to retain his spot although it makes sense to replace him with Nick Daicos.

But I wouldn't discount Noble coming in to replace Ginnivan as sub.

I’d rather play Port than GWS, but I’ll back us to beat both. Brisbane are looking ominous, and I don’t think the MCG record counts for much on GF day.

Anyone else getting a bit PTSD at the thought of facing Lions in the GF?

Sort of but the gap between them and us 20 years ago was so significant.

If you go back and look at those team sheets it’s hard to believe we got as close as we did in 2002.

The teams are more evenly matched in this era.

Ideal scenario - they're banged up but the home ground/crowd might just get them over the line vs GWS in another tough match. Then fly over and meet us at the MCG
Yep. I see the game going the same way as the 2003 PF if Port happen to get over GWS. I’d be much less worried playing Port than GWS.
We beat them by 71 points in round 2 as well with a full squad available to pick from at the time. We will be the same position this time round (except maybe Maynard). GWS also copped a Mother’s Day massacre by 65 points but have vastly improved since then.

Up until last night I was already celebrating our flag but we are in for a hell of a battle if we play Brissy in the GF. I'm afraid it's looking like all the gifts the AFL has given them over the last 5 years has turned them into a a superpower.

Superpower up in Brissy not so much done here. Really think if it pans out that way it is 50-50

We don't need to play the two rucks against either GWS or Port.
Out: Cox/Cameron
In Daicos.
Noble for Maynard if that happens.
Swap Ginnivan for McCreery as sub.

There's a lot of improvement in that team. Surely Josh Daicos can't have two games like that in a row.
I’m more concerned with Jordy. He needs to be more influential as a top line mid.

With the Port vs Gws game on the Saturday does this mean that our pre-lim will be on the Sat also?
Thought they always gave the team that finished top the Fri night game for more rest?
Surely not. As far as I remember the highest ranked team in the Prelims has played first. If we get scheduled to Saturday we would have a lot to complain about.

His past finals have been excellent. He can step up
The past is irrelevant in context of the present. His form line has been ok but not great recently, and outside of one moment on Thursday when he kicked a goal he was largely a non factor. He needs to step up.
