You know Ash is a whopping 3 cms shorter than Kreuger right? Lol.
Completely different build and play style. Height isn’t everything with KPP, Johnson is a tall flanker, not a key forward.

Our style of play is the big watch for me vs Geelong. They embarrassed us 2 years ago in the finals because we allowed them to possess the ball without any accountability and you can't play that way against the Cats.
I think the way we have gone about it the first 2 weeks must be continued next week and we will be a genuine chance against them.

Maynard the obvious inclusion.
Brown the first one to go out.
If Kruger out injured, Cameron starts.

I'd be tempted to go with McInness over one of Henry and WHE.

I can't see us dropping Henry
He's been brilliant, but also a weak link in some respects. I wouldn't be shocked if that decision was made. I'd keep playing him, because he can do anything and could become a real difference maker, but if it was a final next week, I'd go with McInness.

Against the Cats, you need big boys that don’t get knocked off the ball and are happy to put their head over the pill.
(Please refer to the Swans).
Noble will be mince meat.
As will be Go-Pro Ginnivan.
I wouldn’t even have Nick Daicos down back. He will get shredded.

My starting back would be:
B Quaynor Madge Bruz
HB Crisp Moore Howe
No bulldust. Get ready to get bruised.

C Josh Daicos DeGoey Sidey
HF Lipinski Checkers Jamie
F Henry Cameron (if Sonia is wounded) Ash Johnston
Foll Grundy Taylor Pendles
Int McCreery Go-Pro WHE Nick Daico

After the VFL game:

In: Maynard, Johnson, McInness
Out: Madgen, Kreuger, Brown
Thinking that's what I posted last night!

You know height doesn't make someone a KPP right? Lol.
Oh really, what does exactly...magic fairy dust?

Seeing as Johnson has played his entire career as a forward and Pendles hasn’t spent a second there I’m starting to think you’re not the brightest bulb in the box. lol

Maynard comes back through the 2s??
Hahah damn I knew I was missing something.

Out: Kreuger, Brown, Madgen

In: Cameron, Reef, Maynard

Will probs just be 2 changes though.

It'll be interesting to see what roles Maynard is going to play with us this year. That's going to be a big factor in selection I think, particularly regarding Madgen, who probably stays in if Bruzzy is going to be part of the mid rotation.

Now the VFL game is over I’m pretty happy with what I originally thought. Poulter probably deserves to be sub over Finn though.

Out: T Brown, Madgen, Kreguer (if inj), Cameron (sub)

In: Reef, Maynard, Cox (or Cameron), Poulter (sub)

I don’t think it really matters whether it’s cox or cameron.

This new surge game plan just relies on them providing a contest. I don’t rate either of their ability to effectively impacting the result offensively. Just bring the ball to ground and definitely don’t allow your opponent to intercept mark.

Exactly what I was going to post.

Reef and Madgen selections, along with T Brown, hinge solely on where they decide Maynard is going to spend majority of time.

If it’s midfield then I think T Brown and Reef miss. If it’s back Madge could be in trouble and then I’d make three changes and go Reef over Brown.

Reef might find his way to the emergency list with that game today, might need another big one to get into the 22 though. Hopefully no rubbish debut as the sub

My changes stay the same as mentioned last night:
In - Maynard
Out - Kreuger and T.Brown

Cameron stays in the 22, my sub would be Wilson or C.Brown

Madgen isn’t going to be dropped for Maynard. Maynard will find a spot in the starting 18 but it isn’t Madgens spot. Maynard needs a more creative role than the undersized key defence post.

In maynard
Out brown.

Assum8ng Kreuger is injured I’d bring in Cox. Cameron was good but it was five minutes of junk time. Not fussed who comes in tbh out of the two but I’d prefer they hold the faith with incumbent until they have genuinely changed their minds. And that’s Cox on the basis he was selected in round one.

Cal Brown the sub.
