9 news reporting it's a grade 1 AC joint tear

I assume grade 1 is the most minor and grade 4 or 5 is most severe? That seems to be how it is with other medical conditions, such as cancer diagnoses. If so, I imagine he plays with some strapping and pain management meds.

Wouldn't mind Krueger coming in, the only concern for me is that he can actually see the whole game out.
As mentioned before, just needs to protect himself more from his kamikaze style, and pick his moments are little better when attacking the footy.
We don't want to be playing one short in a final.....

I was in Manila, the Philippines, and picked up a letter from my mother at the Poste Restante which informed me of his death. There aren't that many deaths of public figures where you can remember exactly where you were and what you doing at the time you heard the news of their demise.
I remember driving to work in South Melbourne when a news flash said there was some tragic news coming about an AFL player and I swear on my kids, the first thought that came into my head was that something has happened to Millane, it was like I just knew

Hey lads just stopping by to see if any news, admittedly I have only watched a handful Collingwood games this year but when I have you have been fast, electric and exciting so it should be a cracking game.

Just wondering about this Krueger bloke, what kind of player is he? Has he been in the side much during the year?

He’s more mythical than most of our players. Often injured due to kamikaze recklessness in throwing himself into marking contests. Can play forward and back, but prefers to be near the goals.

Honestly we don’t know a whole lot about him because he hurts himself by being such a loose unit

Kreuger a bit like murphy used to be, a danger to himself. Played a couple games earlier in the year, but then did his shoulder. But he is a big boy. Agressive key forward, who can also play back (its where he played at geelong)

Elliott, Johnson and Ginnivan had 3 tackles combined on the weekend.
They actually had five. Your tireless promotion of Henry is wearing a bit thin after six weeks, over which period Fly and the MC have not picked him once except as an unused sub. Perhaps he will be chosen this week, but probably only if AJ doesn't get up. Injury cover depth only atm.

I think Ollie has told them he wants a trade and consequently he’s not going to be picked.

My bad. 5. haha.
Just stating its not the end all, be all.
Not saying he doesn't need to improve it, but as a young kid he has massive development to come. Not even saying he should play. He needs a massive off season to get stronger and fitter to run a lot more.
To be quite honest, the thing that has really gotten my goat over the past 6 weeks, Jen, is not your unending barracking for Henry (I'm sure he could be a great bloke and a talented forward), but your blatant criticism of any other fringe players who you see as competing for a spot ahead of him. In particular, your trashing of JC as a 'country footballer, with no tank' was unwarranted and unfair. Thank god the MC didn't agree with your opinion and that he played 75% TOG in his last outing. Hope he gets up for this weekend as we need inside grunt, not another forward right now. Rant over, sorry...

I actually love JC, but this is from his mouth himself ( lets just say his mates are the brothers of a friend of mine) He knows he isn't fit. But he's gonna be a gun with a pre-season under his belt. But he just does not have the fitness to play out a full game yet. Doesn't mean I don't adore him though, as I do. I've got high hopes especially for the long term. He is just coming from a long way back.

Went by the name Kruuuuuugs.
Seven feet tall he was, with arms like tree trunks. And his eyes were like steel - cold and hard. Had a shock of hair, red, like the fires of hell.

My earlier hysteria at the grade one news was due to me believing the grade system worked the other way around.

Whereas I took the 'one' as meaning most severe, I should have been thinking more in school years, like grade 1 being just an early nibble at education as a toddler and grade 3 getting older and deeper into a more varied curriculum.

The Royal Sampler would have been quick to put my mind at rest, but alas he was elsewhere, and my ignorance was fuelled by the doom and gloom, 'all is lost posters' who had written off De Goey (at least one is still semi-doing so) before the grade one news.

Now that you, LuckyLee, have made me something of an expert on the grades, my posts will be more informed and measured.

Kreuger is no head all shoulders.

He's the opposite of Kane Cornes.

196cm swingman (can play back or forward. Played back for Cats but always wanted to play forward, which Collingwood "promised" him)

Staggeringly quick and mobile for his size and a massive kick on him

But has only played 3 games (including the Final) this year due to shoulder injuries he sustained this year

My only real fear about this Saturday is that the players don't take Freo seriously and already have an eye to Sydney the week after

But maybe my fears are unfounded and it's still residual fear/trauma from the Buckley years
There is no way we will underestimate any team. How can we given our wins have mostly been under ten points?

The cupboard is pretty bare regarding midfielders, but it's not all doom and gloom.

We could leave Krugs in, move Billy into the midfield rest Billy forward and swap with DeGoey. If Carmichael is fit, make him the sub.

Checkers didn't look right on Saturday, i think he'll pay this week.

Getting Mitchell makes sense, Carmichael, Macrea, Reef etc aren't quite ready yet, hopefully they have a cranking pre season, but getting Mitchell to fill that hole for a season or 2 to allow those players to build their tanks and put on size.

I had high hopes for the Brown brothers, but after 70 games, Callum seems like a bust unfortunately, his brother's looking like he's going down the same path as well.
