My only real fear about this Saturday is that the players don't take Freo seriously and already have an eye to Sydney the week after

But maybe my fears are unfounded and it's still residual fear/trauma from the Buckley years

I doubt they would be taking Freo lightly.
Fly started the process with his post game presser on Saturday.
He will make sure they don't look past the next game.

Funny thing is, Freo was actually one of only 3 "big" wins we had this year

To be quite honest, the thing that has really gotten my goat over the past 6 weeks, Jen, is not your unending barracking for Henry (I'm sure he could be a great bloke and a talented forward), but your blatant criticism of any other fringe players who you see as competing for a spot ahead of him. In particular, your trashing of JC as a 'country footballer, with no tank' was unwarranted and unfair. Thank god the MC didn't agree with your opinion and that he played 75% TOG in his last outing. It's usually the case that a bloke is selected and given exposure, to increase his trade value in those circumstances.
So I doubt think that's the reason.

Even in her last post, she says she adores him and then repeats her criticisms, justifying it by some vague remarks about knowing of his inner thoughts by having some tenuous links to his mates through a family friend. Disgusted by her comments, though still think she's by far the most valuable posters on BF and love her dedication. As I said, I'm really thankful that our MC takes no notice of her inexplicably biased opinions of him.

The cupboard is pretty bare regarding midfielders, but it's not all doom and gloom.

We could leave Krugs in, move Billy into the midfield rest Billy forward and swap with DeGoey. If Carmichael is fit, make him the sub.

Checkers didn't look right on Saturday, i think he'll pay this week.

Getting Mitchell makes sense, Carmichael, Macrea, Reef etc aren't quite ready yet, hopefully they have a cranking pre season, but getting Mitchell to fill that hole for a season or 2 to allow those players to build their tanks and put on size.

I had high hopes for the Brown brothers, but after 70 games, Callum seems like a bust unfortunately, his brother's looking like he's going down the same path as well.

Don't forget HH, who was flying and even selected as an emergency early in the season, until COVID absolutely floored him.

I reckon this is quite likely. It's what they did when Jordy was injured.

Cannot understand anyone saying replace Adams with Kreuger
Freo are Uber quick and mobile and young. It is a night game with possibly some showers around
We cannot risk going in too tall
Kreuger either stays sub or replaces one of the other talls
Bianco Macrae or Carmichael to replace Adams

People are not marking him purely on yesterday's game. His form has been down for a number of weeks. The club must be well aware of any injury he might be carrying. I imagine that due to a lack of players capable of playing his role he has been played out of necessity. I'd at least like to see Krueger included so there is another tall target in attack. We don't seem to play our rucks in attack much anymore which increases the responsibility on Mihochek to perform. Seems pointless in a way playing 2 rucks if one of them is not going to rest forward. Probably didn't help much yesterday that Elliott didn't kick straight.

I understand that but he’s still being marked very harshly. With Cox and Cameron only getting very limited time forward, Checkers is essentially playing 1 out as the KPF in our team surrounded by a fleet of flanker types. It’s a big load to carry and generally means he has the oppositions best defender. He’s playing the role and sacrificing his own game. I’m happy with that.

If Krueger was match fit, then an injured Mihocek would have been replaced.
Clearly Krueger is not ready.
