i think the hope is he will still playSo does that mean that the curtain has come down on his season, along with any hope we had of progressing beyond week 1?

That's exactly what he does. He looks fine at the end of a game, then next thing we know, he has succumbed to some heinous and debilitating injury and is gone for a month or two, At least Adams makes it bloody obvious that he is not going to be available for selection for a long long time. There was no mistaking where his body was at after his inept effort to make contact with the ball while leaning 45 degrees to the ground with his leg swinging like an out of control pendulum. Is it just me or does Degoey have a habit of playing a blinder and then incurring an injury and missing weeks?
The two years we won the flag we had a full list to choose from. Coincidence? And we have been hamstrung by injury in most of the final series since then. Swans have been unchanged for weeks. Geelong have the depth to rest players. Frustrating. It's always the guns. I wish injury on no man but the gods seem to be very specific with Collingwood-who can they least afford to lose? Ping!Would have been handy a week off, in the mean time Handbaggers get a week off and a full list to pick from ( Swans as well)

Like the legend Pants Millane, who played finals with a broken thumb and lifted the cup.AC injuries, even grade 1 strains, are painful, easily reaggravated, and can take a regular Joe up to 3 weeks to recover from.
If JDG really has a strain and plays through the pain then he's a legend. Period.
Nigel Lappin in 2003 was incredible. UnfortunatelyLike the legend Pants Millane, who played finals with a broken thumb and lifted the cup.
The night he destroyed Geelong he kicked the goal of the night two minutes before the end. We are delirious only to hear he will be out for the next six weeks with a broken finger. Even if he plays you feel he will be less than his best, especially if we go deep. F##K it. I just want a fair shot and get beaten on our merits without being haunted by if onlys.......That's exactly what he does. Pants Millane was a real man who would put to shame the essentially fragile heavy lifters of our current team. Our current inside mids are here one moment then gone the next.Like the legend Pants Millane, who played finals with a broken thumb and lifted the cup.

No mention of JC;s infected foot. Is he available?According to the club website, Jordy will still be OK to play:

I was in Manila, the Philippines, and picked up a letter from my mother at the Poste Restante which informed me of his death. There aren't that many deaths of public figures where you can remember exactly where you were and what you doing at the time you heard the news of their demise. When Pants died, it really ripped the heart out of the club.
Such a tragedy.
The vision of Pants tossing the ball in the air at the final siren of the 1990 GF is indelibly etched in my memory.Pants Millane was a real man who would put to shame the essentially fragile heavy lifters of our current team. Our current inside mids are here one moment then gone the next.

Pants & Instagram might not be a great mix!!Imagine Pants playing today! He'd have to be on 1.2 mill a year!
If we had him (let alone Daics senior and Gavin Brown) we'd win this whole thing!
Yes though there were other parts that were apparently detaching themselves from the skeleton of his body as the leg swung through the air. Hence his unavailability. Was that his leg

I wouldn’t be saying that just yet.As expected, AJ and De Goey will play
So only Adams missing
I love Tay but it feels like we've been coping pretty well without him most weeksAs expected, AJ and De Goey will play

A kid from my class came up to me before the day began and told me and I felt sick but clung to the hope it was a very bad poor taste joke. When more kids arrived and said the same thing I felt gutted. It's funny how deeply attached we are to the players who wear the black and white. I remember Craig Kelly saying how pissed off he was when all the fans were crying at his funeral as he said they didn't know him and he wasn't their close mate. I know what he was trying to say but his comments made it clear he had no idea what football means to dedicated fans and how much they love their players.I was in Manila, the Philippines, and picked up a letter from my mother at the Poste Restante which informed me of his death.
