Well then smart arse.. shouldn't be difficult to answer the question..

if Rankine got caught drink driving, then got busted by the cops with a small bag of powder, then got photographed in front of a plate at a party.. there is only 1 bad mistake there.. the other two shouldnt even be illegal in this day and age and probably wont be in a decade from now.

But back to rankine.. would the club push him out of the squad?.. effectively delisting him?

i don’t care if its a hypothetical of not.. you can still answer it.. but you wont.. because you know that they definitely wouldnt. And if you said they would treat him the same as stengle you’d look an even bigger fool than you already do.

and because you know they would treat rankine differently then the next think you’d have to ask yourself is why..

and its pretty obvious why.. because they didnt rate stengle because they have very dubious skills when it comes to identifying talent.

you know that.. but admitting it makes your rant against me look silly.

right now.. stengle has had a far more successful career than rankine!. Stengle is a fxxkn gun player.

our dickhead run club forced him out and handed an AA premiership player to Geelong for nothing…. Brilliant list management!..

but you do you.. and keep apologising for them.
Jog on.

I've been very critical of the club when warranted. The appointment of Burton and not offering Paulos a new contract. The appointmemt of the son of the person directly responsible for Tippett sanctions.... Pyke having no plan B despite the cattle to do it. Have clown show "pop psychologists" with no real accreditation or tertiary psychology training running "mind strengthening " exercises.. camp included without using peer-reviewed methods....

There is plenty to be mad at the club about. But surely not repeat a offeneder who had possibly got back on track dorevtly due to the wake up call the club gave him.

The reality is, we are in the middle of a rebuild and this season has started to show some glipses of promise. 5 players who have been in the system 3 years or less looking the goods so far. 2 decent recruits via trade strengthening the playing group.

Rebuilds are tough. Brisbane basically did nothing for 15 years until the AFL stepped in to help. Essendon not winning a final in x days is a literal meme. Carlton have been rebuilding since their salary cap sanctions. Took Melbourne 13 years....

We started our rebuild in season 2020 where the AFL actively hindered our developmemt and had 2 years of a hostile media whiteanting everything the club was doing despite the post camp clean out. Being where we are currently is ahead of the curve in terms of rebuilds.

AND it seems we have reversed the trend of our young talent being poached the moment they show promise. Plus got in 2 a grade recruits.....

We wouldn't have picked him even if fit, like we didn't the season before. And like we didn't this season when he was fit (until the Dude got concussed then did his ACL, that is).

But it was the injury you see... not our selection policy that just happens to have been the same before and after the hamstring
Last year agree !!!

This year that would have been horrid management and potentially career threatening not to manage a repeat 3x injury like that , a passionate topic of mine given it’s my job ( Physio)

Lots of professionals ( not the coaches ) involved in all of that

Payed dividends for Josh as his fitness and body holding up well , I’d give him a one week rest of no football soon though

This sounds very much like mediocrity

Middle of the rebuild and 1 debutant this year?

This is the laziest argument on Bigfooty.

We can all accept mediocrity that's easy, lazy even. To be better, you have to always be working on your weaknesses and aiming to fix the things that have not worked so that we don't repeat the same things again.

When you repeat the same mistakes over and over, it's beyond a coincidence or just bad luck and suggest a deliberate way of doing things. When this deliberate way of doing does not achieve the desired result, it suggests the approach is the wrong one.

Ignoring these things as just natural development can only reinforce the wrong approach and yes, lead to years of mediocrity.

What people "want to see" and where they actually are as a player can be miles apart from reality.

Again Pedlar is 3 years in, 2 injury hampered. Max is in his debut year with 17 years. Rachelle and Soligo are in their 2nd year and have 30+ each.

Murray is a 3rd year player on 45 games.

Clearly the club is not averse to playing those new recruits that they rate.

Worrell may have got more games earlier if he didn't have a little indiscretion.

Schoenberg got 22 games in his 2nd year. Then others moved in front of him and his form became variable.

why then in round 19 are we playing Crouch who surely has his papers well and truly stamped - why not give Hately a game?

and why have we played Sloane every game of the season after coming of a knee reconstruction despite his form being poor before he did it and hitting no heights in 2023 - yes a club champion etc. but there has been no display of management just old love.

Sorry but you really seem to be blinded in your faith of the AFC.

OFFICIAL CHANGES:

Out: Murphy, Laird (injured), Rachele (suspended), Sholl, Michalanney (managed)
In: McHenry, Crouch, Schoenberg, Cook, Parnell

Lol sholl and murphy for McHenry and Schoenberg.

McHenry - This guy must give a serious Bj to the coaching staff because he is rank putrid. how many chances does he get to prove he isnt up to it. I've seen 1 game and banished players play better than McHenry does.

Crouch - This one I dont mind considering we lost Laird and Rachele from the midfield rotation. Berry was the alternative. Wouldnt have minded that either but at least Crouch will stand toe to toe with the mids at Melbourne at the CB and have an opp of winning the ball. Around the ground not so much.

Schoenberg - No doubt to boost our midfield rotation stocks. But like McHenry, how many chances does he need to prove he doesnt actually pull his weight. Its not even a little bit, his midfield numbers would rank as the lowest for his age group and experience in the league. Surely we have to have standards.

Cook - Needs games I like this selection.

Parnell - Another who needs games. Does some good things.

Missed opportunity - Nankervis. Without question should have made a debut this week and the coaching staff look as pathetic as their selection philosophies. I will bet he makes a debut at our next home game. Feel good wall paper cracks story.

You’re saying this again and you’re still wrong. Compare Bergman, for one of many examples
Edit or Caldwell who went the year before

Bergman is a backman. Plays half back literally every match. Is also a year younger than Schoenberg.

Name another midfielder who plays right in the middle, not labelled a mid and plays half forward or back flank, who actually has less than an impact on a game then Schoenberg. Berry isnt even playing and he has more impact.

hahahahahahaha

‘Play the kids but not the best performed kid -Schoenberg ‘

I swear some people immediately think a player is instantly much better if they haven’t played a game or been exposed for a while

eg getting excited about cook playing but not Schoenberg doesn’t really make sense if you’ve watched their season , should be happy that both are playing however … hopefully they play rest of year to give them a chance to show their afl players

Sholl just got dropped.

Who else comes in for them? And I mean actually comes in and does well. Prior to 2 rounds ago things were looking pretty good. 4 of our key kids hit the wall at the same time... they will get there.

Some of the early games Murphy actually performed well.

McHenry has also done well coming in as sub.

And given McHenry had 20 and 21 games and the only 11 this year, it seems that others are getting a go.

People wanted a complete rebuild, then when it happens, don't have the cojones for what it takes to rebuild properly. Especially when the AFL sanctions us needlessly in the 1st year of a rebuild and the media give us a hiding to nothing for 2 straight year AFTER we have had a clean out after the camp fiasco.... That can't be a good environment to rebuild in.

Let's not do a Melbourne. 2007 to 2015 not look like there was any improvement, build to 2018 5th then 2019 tanking or something....... 9 years in a row of nothing promising... top draft picks, playing the kids and all.

Stop lying and stop making excuses. Any competent club overcomes challenges.

We are weak and don't push back on the afl.

We accepted the rebuild

Schoenberg has had 60 games to disappoint me and he hasn't failed. He isnt up to scratch and he wont be 10000% be anywhere near our best 22 come the time we push for a premiership.

Im not excited about cook as an individual, im excited to see fresh players. Its the only way we are going to take the next step as the current crop as a collective are failures. We need to weed out the waste of time players and find our genuine next generation. Putting McHenry and Schoenberg back in is literally dumb.

Sloane is actually rated highly in kicking which results in a score... Look at the threat rating.

This goes some way to explain why he's getting a game.

However, the only player in the 2s who could replace him as an inside mid is Crouch. His kicking isn't good and is a really good extractor from the contest who needs the Seedsman, Smith (in their prime) type player.

Personally, I would have gone extractor to Soligo rather than playing Sloane.

But realistically every move is rearranging deck chairs. We need to recruit a genuine mid to complement Dawson. Pedlar and Soligo after another preseason should show even more growth.

And I have said already that someone at the club needs to have the hard talk. Man conversation in Walsh's words. He needs to either retire or be SANFL captain. 20230721_221808.jpg

And how many fair opportunities has he had lately despite clearly being our best sanfl player ?

He’s also shown he can play afl football in the past , surely learn from Chayce Jones experience

Yep no big fan of Mchenry

Plenty of great Sanfl players never get decent opportunities at AFL. Why is Schoenberg worth more time.
