This year we lost
McAsey
Murray
Butts

Fair test of KPD depth.

And Doedee

Yeah we gained Keanes with the loss of McAsey, but still a massive rearrangement of our back 6.

Yet, they looked rock solid Saturday night.

It has two effects.

You bring cover into the AFL team. Not the same level of player, but cover.
The SANFL team though is decimated. Who is playing key defence there? Going to be a quick fall and exit from SANFL finals.

Murphy just re-signed for 2 years. Doubt he’s dropped
Exactly which is a shame - because bringing Rachelle in makes us a lot more dangerous - or even Cook adds a dimension that Murphy doesn’t. Having Mcadam with the forward pressure on the ground and the air is a lesson in how the position should/could be played.

He has had a good season for his standards but we can improve as a team with someone with more skill and talent - handy depth but we should be looking at improving every position and his is one of the first same boat as Sloane.

Meh, who cares

That is what Reserves are for.

Mcasey would have been behind Borlase and even then, we would have still probably played short.

He was that bad.

Borlase is in

Obvious decision, particularly against the GC triplet towers

Fingers crossed for him that he goes well, could be the difference between continuing his AFL career or not

Good for Borlase.

I'm surprised there were no rabbits out of the hat and picking Berg to play at CHB.
They probably feel like he’s the only option now but I would’ve even looked at Thilthorpe at centre half back before Borlase, who’s still at long odds to even be on the list next season. Thilthorpe’s currently unsure a lot of the time what his role is up forward at the moment, give him a role where he knows what he’s supposed to do & it might’ve gotten him out of his current funk.

Borlase, Berry and Rachele in?

Thinking back to last game vs Gold Coast - Rowell tore us apart in the middle and Luko killed us up forward. If Crouch can step back in time as he did last week vs Port, at least he gives us a bit of size and grunt at the coalface to hopefully counter Rowell. Worrell on Luko? Good match up.

Out: Butts, Murphy, Sloane
In: Berry, Rachele, Borlase

Got to reward Berry now.

Would be shame for Berry not to get another game in the firsts this year. I know he was completely out of sorts at the start of the year and still has a lot to work on but would be good for his development to get a few games.

Sog was dropped, only got back in after an SANFL blinder and even then only due to a late change with Sloane to sub. Smith? He was injured. Max makes 2 then, I concede.
But of both

Rested as he didn’t play SANFL that week but not straight Back into afl.

1 good game then straight back in is pretty good player management imo (and it wasn’t a forced late change, it was the plan all along just avoiding headlines on dropping Sloane by not naming him an out thurs)

Someone on here, might have even been you, mentioned that they wouldn't be surprised if he asked for a trade years end.

I'm the opposite, surprised if he were to leave but I'm not ITK.
Probably depends on whether berry sees himself getting games under Nicks next year. Another team might give him a allocation of guaranteed games. Hopefully he stays unless we get a decent first for him.
