In rebuild you need to see who is going to make it and who isn’t. That means making changes. You don’t win three games and start running the show as if we’re a contender.
Im normally always calling for more younger players to be injected into the side but I dont know, I reacon we have the right mix at the moment..

we are still fielding one of the youngest sides in the comp..

We are rebuilding but at the same time not doing a Carlton rebuild and throwing all our youngsters to the wolves all at once..

Exactly!

The clue is in the name - rebuild.

We don't stop building just because of a couple of good games.

Watching the 2 SANFL games thus far there is only one player knocking on the selection door IMO Josh Worrell and note I said knocking on the door not knocking the door down.

Fogarty is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle.

He kicked 3.1, which is a pretty good return for a forward. Then you look a bit deeper. All of those scores were the result of lace out passes from the midfield...
This is exactly what I was trying to explain to you a couple weeks ago.

The game has changed.

The rule changes mean the ball is coming in with less heat and more speed. Less dirty ball coming in and forwards are getting to play 1 on 1 against their opponent rather than battling a flooded D50.

This can't be overstated.

Why do you think Tex is doing so well?

All tall forwards are thriving.

Why do you think Fogarty, also a lead up forward, won't thrive under the same changed conditions?

10 news just reported McAdam in a sling from his injury yesterday. Smith with some knee soreness
McAdam reached for his shoulder early in the game yesterday so no real surprises there that he'd pull up sore when he cooled down and Smith's knee was assessed on the sidelines at one stage by the physios/Doctor.

Typical of BF some people have there players they dislike and run with them every week,

Let be honest, if we want to beat Freo we need to win the Midfield, we need Player to get the hands-on the Ball and get the ball outside to Seedsman, Scholl, Smith,
We need to bring players who can win the ball, consistently, with that in mind, our big ball-winners are Liard, Crouch and Sloane, two of them are out for a few weeks, against teams we should be playing to win.
I would seriously look at bringing in Hately, he was one of the few Players in the Crows SANFL who find/hunts the ball and he delivered it outside,
Pedlar still a couple of weeks away, he looked clean but also a bit lost at times, game time will fix that.
Jones needs to get his confidence back we need to see the 2019 Jones,
O'Conner too raw and need to build his game in the SANFL
Thilthorpe did not have a great game in the SANFL but a lot of that was not his fault, some of the top-ups and outside players needed to lift their eyes as he was open a lot but they kept kicking the ball to a contest. when the ball went near him he made a contest.
And Yes, Frampton needs to be replaced. But only for Thilthorpe, as Himmelberg has done nothing this year to warrant a place in the AFL.

So my change's would be
Hately for Berry, we need some ball winners in the midfield
Worrell should get a game and the only player I see who for are Hamil or Kelly
Thilthorpe fo Frampton. My only concern is the Lack of seeing him ruck in the SANFL.
Are you watching Berry ??
Geez mate.

Yes, I have been, and he needs to find the ball more, He needs time in the SANFL being a dominant mid, winning the ball,
while the Crows need another ball-winner in the midfield.
And Hately is that option ?
I'd argue Hately is slow and offers nothing defensively.
Berry is an animal in that regard with a grand total of 3 games he's one of the best first yr players in the comp.

Might be worth knowing how much of Berry's T.O.G. 71% average is actually spent in the midfield too.

Hately will find the ball, if he does not then Pedlar gets a run, by then Crouch will be back and he is a proven ball magnet.

I know all that and I know he will be a good mid, but the end of the Day a mid needs to find the Ball,
and against Freo the Crows need more than 2 mids capable of getting 20 disposals otherwise our outside run from Seedsman, Smith, Scholl will dry up..

McAdam suffered a left sternoclavicular joint sprain. Acording to Dr Google treatment may include icing, inflammation and/or pain control with medications like ibuprofen and acetaminophen, and using a sling or a brace.

Personally I'd be playing Schoenberg in there a lot more than we are currently, cannot see any reason at all why he wouldn't easily reach your marker of 20 possessions with more exposure. Other than size Hately isn't going to offer much in the terms of difference to the guys we have in there currently.

how did you see Berry’s game yesterday Mutineer?..

was a bit quiet.. but does he get another week?.. or does he need a rest and an easier run in the SANFL?..

or is it a matter of having no one else pushing enough for his spot?

Shoenberg ok, but Crows still need to win more ball, in the middle which and with Sloane and Crouch out they cannot afford players who are struggling to win their own ball, let alone carry 2 of them in the middle if they want to bet Freo. With Sloane or Crouch yea they can afford to carry one or two Because at this time they are hoping nothing happens to Laird.
Hately in the last 2 games has play 1st game predominantly outside, and then followed that up a week later by playing a full game inside.
and in the SANFL he the only player available capable of winning his own ball. After Hately was looking at Jones, And his defensive action was not as bad as some have reported,

But what is his spot in the side currently, doesn't seem to be in the midfield a whole lot considering he was drafted as an in and under mid?

Left field, but wouldn't mind seeing O'Connor given a go.
Liked him in last years trial game and had a decent game on the weekend.
Has nice size and is defensive minded, which the coaches seem to love.
