Are people taking the piss on the Soligo umpire contact post on Twitter? It’s clear as day he was just celebrating the goal and maybe thought the goal umpire was a teammate, which is why he immediately apologised.

I think he was more impulsively saying Hey, I kicked that and making sure the umpire was aware

Realised immediately that he'd done the wrong thing

I'm sure he'll get a fine and a warning but that's all

Assuming Carlton play only 1 key forward...

In: Parnell, Pedlar, Fogarty, McAdam
Out: Butts, Murphy, Schoenberg, Gollant

B: Michalanney, Murray, Hinge
HB: Smith, Doedee, Milera
C: Sholl, Dawson, Jones
HF: Pedlar, Walker, Keays
F: Fogarty, Thilthorpe, Rankine
R: O'Brien, Rachele, Laird
I: Parnell, Soligo, Sloane, McAdam
Sub: McHenry

Rough on a few players but we need to play our best against Carlton.

Rest anyone with significant niggles.

Butts will likely go out too given he was subbed. Keane you would think comes in.

Reckon he was subbed to help get through the short break to this game. Nicks said in the presser we did a bit of planning in this game looking forward to next week. I took that as subbing Butts and resting Berry

Did I watch another game? Hinge isn’t going out, he’s firmly best 22.

Also if Hinge goes out Dawson is a lock for playing back. Hinge made a few terrible skill errors today but is still playing a solid tough role back there. Deserves his spot

Pretty straightforward selections

Fogarty in for Gollant
Pedlar for McHenry
McAdam for Murphy

Butts injured replaced by Keane

Very easy week for the selectors but I fear we'll needlessly complicate things

How so? I doubt Keane comes in but the other 3 are highly likely

That lineup just looks like a five goal loss.

Remember kids, Adelaide cannot play with 1 key defender, no matter how the opposition set up. We don't have the players for it and have looked utterly awful every time we've tried it.

We'll be dazzled by the win and the good games from Murphy and McHenry, so we will search for ways not to make those obvious changes

Its a good position to be in

Trying to work out how to manage the 5 day break with the return of key players

1. Bring in Fog , Pedlar and McAdam dropping McHenry, Gollant and another

2. Give Fog 1 more week , keep Gollant then rest Tex for Fog the week after

3. Does Butts go out for 1 week and we try Keane or throw Dawson back again and weaken our mid rotations?

Going to be some deep discussions this week and I hope Burgess is involved

Last in first out

Out: Murphy, McHenry, Gollant
In: McAdam, Pedlar, Fogarty

Berry swaps with Schoenberg as sub
This, though I'd give Berry a game in the SANFL and make Hately sub.

Nothing against the blokes coming out - they didn't do much wrong, but you pick your best players.

Normally I would agree.... but

Doedee or Hinge are perfectly capable of playing on Silvagni wirh Murray on Curnow.

But if Carlton play another key forward, we need to find another key defender.

I feel sick

I just realised what's going to happen

Butts will be out, at least for this week.

So we'll put Dawson down back which frees up a spot for Murphy or McHenry to stay even with Pedlar returning.

And McAdam has missed 3 and we've just won twice kicking good scores, so we won't mess with the formula. So McAdam stays out which means the other of Murphy/McHenry also stays.

You are satisfied with finishing bottom 6. Not all supporters are as easily satisfied as you. Freo aren't that good, enjoy getting carried away beating a team at home that will finish bottom 6.

We won by 7 goals. What should we have beaten them by?
No one has a monopoly on being pissed off for finishing bottom 6 last few years but 90% of people can see a really good foundation has been built for this team to grow into a genuine challenger.
McHenry played a ripper today - Murphy has been excellent since coming back in - Keays has been good although his goal kicking has actually gone backwards!

Credit where it’s due
