So who goes to Buddy?

Think Schade will have the first crack with Reid on Reid. The Sack may be an option though as Buddy isn't a big contested marker. Also think that Howe could get a crack at some point but feel he may be a better playing a bit more loose and intercepting in front of Sam Reid and Buddy.

Goldsack will get first crack. Buddy isn't a contested marking beast, so realistically you need someone that can go with him at ground level and on the lead.

Reid will take his brother, and Schade will be kept for Callum Sinclair or the resting ruck.

I think Schade's height of 197cm saves him. If Dunn play, we have no-one over the height of 195cm for the resting ruck. I'd say that is what is keeping Dunn out of the side.

I think last week though against a smaller Richmond side, Dunn should have played. This week, Schade's height is probably needed. Schade just needs to play the percentages with his kicking though, or handball off.

You guys are in serious trouble with the Swans big names playing.

Oliver Florent
Will Hayward
Jordan Dawson
Jordan Foote
Robbie Fox
Nic Newman
Harry Marsh

all playing your players are going to struggle (to know who to mark as they have no idea who any of the above players look like)

Newman looked pretty good last week.

No idea about any of the rest. Robbie Fox is an interesting name though. Sounds like a pr0n Star lol.

I'm hoping Florent and Newman get plenty of the ball, and you still lose of course.

Most of their kids look good, but they are kids. So you can expect inconsistency. More is being asked of them too in the first two weeks with the Swans injuries and them not getting the most out of their senior players.

I also wouldn't mind if Florent got lots of disposals and kicked a few goals in a loss, it will finally be good to put a name to the face of the 166k guy that only averages 44pts

It is more games than I was expecting to be honest. To me at the start of the season I imagined both Florent and Hayward playing in the reserves most of the year, getting games in 2018 rather than 2017.

HAHA, I think exactly the same thing. I took him over Hoskin-Elliot FFS!

Having watched the Dogs game I'd love Hayword, Fox and Florent at Collingwood, calling it early. They will take time though as they are skinny kids right now who's bodies will get smashed up by men.

Swans have been up for as long as Hawthorn, but the Swans have some very good kids coming through, Heeney the best of them. Hawks on the other hand... Burton, that is all.

I want to see Bucks given the opportunity to coach a full team. If we can stay healthy, then we get Elliott and Wells back in the next fortnight and he may finally be in a position to coach a full strength side. (I knocked on wood as I posted).

That's when I want to judge him. If he can never get that full squad together, then the writing is on the wall for him because I think we lack a bit of depth this year.
I see it the same. Would love him to have a crack at it with a healthy list and that looks almost here if we inject Wells, Elliott and De Goey over the next few weeks. That's 3 top 10 players in the list two who kick very well which addresses a big weakness

Out of interest I was speaking to someone who sits in on a lot of the Collingwood board meetings. He was at one this week and describes the board as unhappy with recent results but still believing in the direction we are headed and there is no sign of any changes afoot this season. As such Bucks is secure for the rest of the season by his reckoning.

Interesting because that take on his future is completely different from a couple of things I've picked up from within the playing and coaching group...

Biggest game of Buckley's coaching career IMO. The Swans are playing half their reserves, If we lose its over for him.

I personally think it depends on what sort of results are coming. If they beat bottom teams and don't get blown out by middle teams Buckley could be safe yeah. But I think if we start getting blown out by teams like St Kilda, Melbourne, North Melbourne, Essedon... I don't see how they could keep him.

Man that Sydney side is inexperienced.

By my reckoning 12 of there 22 will have played less than 40 games including 7 with less than 10.

Our numbers are 7 with less than 40 including 1 under 10.

I've gone from hoping for an unexpected win to feeling disappointed if we don't.

Sydney:
0-10 games 7
11-20 games 2
21-30 games 2
31-40 games 1

Collingwood:
0-10 games 1
11-20 games 1
21-30 games 3
31-40 games 2
That's a good stat, but if they execute their game plan better than when do ours, they'll win regardless of how young they are.

If we lose Bucks is crap,
If we win Bucks is still crap. Is that about right?

Happy with the inclusions.
Would have preferred we left Smith out and kept Aish in for another week. But I think it was always out of those two as the other out along with Blair.

Going to be a good battle in the midfield

Pendlebury
Kennedy
Treloar Hanneberry
Sidebottom Parker
Adams Jack
Greenwood Jones
Crisp Lloyd

How I think we will line up:

B - Goldsack Schade Ramsay
HB - Maynard Reid Howe
C - Greenwood Treloar Sidebottom
HF - Varcoe White Hoskin-Elliott
F - Fasolo Moore Mayne
R - Grundy Pendlebury Adams
INT - Crisp Broomhead Phillips Smith

Hopefully we are fired up and have a red hot crack tonight.

Our game plan in the first two weeks by and large has been fine. Spotting up players 30-40 metres out for set shots happened sufficiently often for us to win both games. Missing too many of the set shots and other clangers (Ramsays htb when he didnt understand the new deliberate rushed rule for example) have nothing to do with game plan.

God Tim you've got no clue.
