Really hard top know without knowing who is going to come up from injury. It seems we may be without Adams, Langdon and Varcoe for a little longer, and the cupboard is bare.

See what happens in the VFL, but the obvious possibles are Brown, Cloke, Phillips and Macaffer. I am betting the last two only have to play moderately well to be in the running for a call up with Aish and Broomhead out. Brown v Marsh if Reid is gone but its hard to see Marsh being ready so Brown is probably in. Cloke may have his cards marked. Croker probably gets another chance. I don't think Witts can dislodge Grundy even after that.

I know the general feelings on Cloke here but people need to put aside their hatred and see how this game exposed how desperately we missed a solid target inside 50 at the end there. Yes Cloke has been poor but neither Cox or Moore have the frame or experience to be relied upon consistently at this early stage of their development, Gault just simply isn't AFL standard and we can't afford to take Reid out of defence, Cloke has to come back in IMO.

At this stage I'd be happy to put Aish into the VFL and to bring in another debutant: Wills or Phillips. Perhaps JDG needs to find some touch in the twos, so two debutants might be feasible.

The point is that we're not in the hunt this year, and I'd support any selections which are made with a view to future development...and I think the development of Aish and JDG would benefit from some VFL football.
