There has to be someone, ANYONE, who could replace Acres. Bring back Conca and move Tucker up to the wing? Acres has No power in the contest whatsoever. Very ordinary disposal by foot. Always fumbles when there any hint of contact.
Crowden has been a whipping boy and was poor in the games before this, but give me 10 Mitch Crowdens before Acres.
Some of Acres turnovers tonight were elementary skill errors. Also when he goes back with the flight he does so very tentatively and is easily pushed over creating an attacking spill out the back for the oppo. He has had some some good games but a few bad ones. Tonight he got a bit of the ball but was average. Whilst the likes of SHill and Hayden Young are out injured he prob gets a reprieve but he really needs to tidy up his disposal. His kicking i50 and to just outside 50 arc is at times atrocious. If Conca (rightly so for mine) go dropped then Acres time is indeed coming. Blakely for his doubters seems to be making a real effort to look after the ball. I’d be playing him in front of Acres and move someone else to the wing.

Out: Taberner (inj), Acres and Watson
In: Brayshaw, Blakely and Duman

Ryan Logue Wilson
Duman Cox Aish
Tucker Fyfe Brayshaw
Schultz Lobb Henry
Switta Treacy Mundy

Darcy Cerra Walters

Serong Colyer Blakely Crowden

Acres.

Brayshaw back in for Taberner with the adjustments to suit coming from players already in the side e.g Mundy and Fyfe rotate forward.

Blakely for Acres (sub) because I think we are going to need players that turn up when things aren't going our way this week.

Duman for Watson because I don't see a good matchup for Watson against Port. He has also been poor lately imo.

It didn’t look like a syndesmosis type injury for Tabs. Hopefully it’s just a rolled ankle. Miss a couple of weeks maybe? Also hopefully he didn’t damage it further by going back on the ground

AB if ready, Meek in for me.
We will need some bigger bodies
against Port.
Walters looks more involved with rotating into the midfield.
But I really think that Blakely, type gives us more resolve in the Trenches.
We need a player who knows his limitations, but puts his body on the line to get the ball into classy
users.
I still think that Cerra is captain material.
Use Darcy forward, Meek helping
defence. Control the tempo.
Lobb on the move, able to run and jump at the ball is a win.
Henry looks likely to have a break out game.

I’m confused at how people can say bringing in Meek would help forward structure tbh. He looked ordinary anywhere but the ruck at AFL level so much so Longmuir thought he was better off playing Meek 50% of game time rather than rest him forward.

There’s more to being a forward than being tall. Treacy to me looks a very good prospect forward for an 18 year old.

I’m not for drafting spud talls in the MSD just for depth but it’s been done to death how urgent it is for the club to add quality KPF prospects at seasons end. Goes without saying that is a topic for the list management thread.

As for this week’s changes if Taberner goes out we bring a midfielder in (Brayshaw or Blakely depending on Brayshaws fitness) and we see extra forward minutes from Fyfe, Mundy and Walters.

Andy in Tabs out would be the only change I would make. Port aren’t playing a ruck so we 100% don’t need two. I get structure but IMO Meek doesn’t help that at all as he can only play one position and we already have an absolute gun ruck.
A 3 tall forward line is working though.
Having Treacy, Lobb, Darcy forward stretches the opposition.
We lose nothing in the ruck with
Meek and like NN I’d like to see Darcy play most of the season.

Lol. Meek is a decent back up ruck but stating we don’t lose anything in the ruck by Darcy going forward is just blatantly incorrect.

Lose nothing in the ruck??? Haha cmon we are watching one of the great seasons from a ruck of this age. Darcy is in the top 3-4 rucks in the comp at the moment.

I feel like people aren’t appreciating just how amazing Darcy is playing. Not sure Meek will ever even put up a game as good as what Darcy played last night and it wasn’t even his best of the season. We are watching something special.
Yep, the big fella just keeps getting better and better

Totally agree.

If Tabs out, get Meek in.

Meek gives a rest for Darcy. It's a long season to ruck solely for the whole time.

Meek can wear out Ladham for 3 quarters and then release Darcy in the 4th.

Darcy before Meek going was very good forward except for the goal kicking.
