You have a point with Clark I guess but Rioli is replacing Winder who hasn't got near it in the last 3 games (including last week).
It's more that I think Rioli isn't fit and is going to get injured again.
Bazzo is an interesting choice. I think he's going to be a very good player, I thought he showed some glimpses last week but I wouldn't have thought he'd done enough to get a call up.
I would chuck Petch in the middle for a few games just for shits and giggles. He actually has looked ok the few times he's been in the recently and lets face it, at this point in the season it's not going to do any harm

Still don't see where the merit in Jones as a defender comes from either.

He may be quick, but he doesn't run lanes, so provides no rebound.

On the other hand has doesn't seem to have the slightest clue of being defensively accountable at all.

It will be a disaster if he ends up "marking" Tuohy, Stengle or Close.
Maybe you're right but do you honestly think him playing will be the difference between a win and loss? Might as well give him the year to try and get some valuable learning, has the tools to be a good running defender - may not work but what's the harm in trying?

How is Yeo straight in? Willie lucky Liam is ill imo , or else he would/should be i the wafl again.

At least we have some pace in.

But Clark out WTF
Love Yeo as a player but not a great message to send to the playing group. If you've got credits there are no consequences for indiscipline

He served a week.

Let’s be realistic here - we aren’t beating Geelong - get Yeo - who IS actually likely to play beyond this season and is our best midfielder when actually up and rolling - back into the team and try to get him back to some kind of form.

He’s played more WAFL this year than AFL, stop ****ing around get on with it now.

Yeo said today he won’t be playing midfield. So it’s really one midfielder in, and he’s had three WAFL games and ramped up his game time and his performance with each one.

Isn’t that what people want to happen with senior guys coming back from injury?
What we want to happen is what hasn't happened but if it does happen, for fcks sake why did it take so long to happen?!?!

True but there is a lot of messaging around the standards at the club dropping. I would have liked Yeo to play the extra game off WAFL. He got suspended when the team desperately needed him to get the run in his legs. He let the team down and this was perfect opportunity to send a message to the playing group. No matter how many BnFs you win the team comes first

Hell yeah I'd love to see him play wing all year with a license to pretend he's Peter Matera. He might stink it up, but if there's one upside to being this bad it's the opportunity to take a few risks and find out what these guys can do (or not).

'Running lanes' sounds like a euphemism for what Bailey Smith got into trouble for

He isn’t going to play midfield he is going to be playing in the backline…. And to be honest after his injuries thats probably where he will finish. He wont be a midfielder again..

Clark in 5 games has made 27 tackles which is more than a host of regulars who have played 8-12 games for the year… infact his ten in a game on his game time is one less than Duggan has for the year who is supposedly a defender .
Ten tackles means he was second to the ball at least ten times:p

For people saying that Yeo needs to build form, the entire team needs to build form. We are at the lowest point in club history. There would be barely any players you could say are in form and holding up their end of the bargain.

I'm guessing the club has decided to reset during the bye so are treating this week as basically round 1. Put our best team out there with the best kids and try and build something going forward.

That would make the first half of the season pre-season which means our form makes sense, we never take pre-season seriously

For me it's not really a form thing. We need to reset the standards at the club. Yeo is one of our leaders and him getting suspended when he's played about 3 games this year as Simmo keeps mentioning isn't setting good standards.

Not so much re-setting during the bye, this would've been their target for some time I'd imagine...for better or worse.

In theory we look like a much stronger line-up while keeping an eye on the future with the debut.

Quite a few plodders/out of form types have been dropped.

Actually concerns me. Last few times we have made mass changes and theoretically had a better team we have been flogged. Concerned we may lose by a record margin to a Geelong team that is used to destroying us
