I haven't been this confident about a game in weeks...

No injuries :thumbsu:
Hoping for a strong performance from the mids, with Greenwood all over Zorko.

We have clearly opted for keeping a stable, strong forward line, so the mids could help make this more comfortable for the makeshift back line.

I’m backing the selectors in on this one and I dislike Oxley. Time is over for fun and games our season will be in strife with a loss. Get experience in who can do a job not raw kids who have offered nothing lately.

Why do you always say re? What's that about?

Gimp is on his way to Moe to give an address at the local Mechanics Institute on how to cook souvlaki so I'm helping out - :)

Re is an interjection commonly used in the greek language but also used in the Balkans. It is used in speech to gain someone's attention, add emphasis, insult, or express surprise or astonishment, like the Spanish che.

McLarty was Big vs Box Hill

Don't be condescending, they're 4-15 for the season, so if that's amazing football then good for you. You wouldn't have a clue how much footy other people watch so that's an ordinary call.

Freo are hopeless, 4 out of those other 5 games were at the Gabba in great weather.

Oh, their one trip to Victoria they got flogged by Geelong :thumbsu:

By all means though, load up on them against the pies this week if you're that confident.

Yeah and the one you conveniently left out was in Tasmania where Hawks have the 2nd best current win record against opposition teams (behind Tigers at the G) and the Bears handed their ass to them.

Chill pill Bryza.. you’ll live longer. We’re all friends here.

& he has 2 perfectly functioning hamstrings...oh, probably shouldn’t have said that.

And nor is he on crutches or in a moon boot. Two major advantages there.

Ox is also experienced. While I’m impatient to see McLarty, how many more guys with no or few games can we play? We’ve hit the wall. Oxley it is and good luck to him. We must win this.

It’s not the player per se (though he is as soft as a stick of melted butter).. it’s the fact you are adding him to a backline missing Goldy, Schaz, Moore, Howe and Dunn and including a CatB first year rook in his second game as a KPD.
.

Can it still be classified as soft if it has already melted?

Or are you trying to say that he goes to liquid when the heat is on?

I don't like Oxley (at all) but I do understand why he's in this week. We have no choice. McLarty is not playing back and we couldn't bring in another first gamer. Too light on for experience.

JDG is a big in and Aish should make us better.

We need Greenwood to lock down on Zorko and the rest of our midfielders to dominate.

Watch the Game to see the Difference. Stats don't tell the Whole Truth
You tell me, I never watch vfl so often ask for opinions. What would make you more confident in McLarty than Oxley TD?

I will answer for Dave.

One will be wearing Black & White in 2019 and one won't.

You figure out which one now.

I’m aware of that, but I don’t care about 2019 right now and neither should the club, we need to put our best side forward to make finals in 2018.

FWIW I would have walked Oxley out years ago.

If you only need the best in 2018 for finals then McClarty wins hands down...........I say that even with my "impartial" disdain for Oxley.

The kid has shown more than enough to play ONE game because Howe comes straight in next week all things being equal.

I'm confused, can somebody explain to me who's going to play on Charlie Dixon in 2 weeks? Because IMO McClarty is the only viable option, so he should've debuted this week.

Unless we have someone else fit and available who can go with a 107kg monster?

Someone explain to me where the balance is here?

A forward, a mid-forward and a key back go out of the side.…

In comes a mid, a half back and a forward.

Why do we need another half back in the side?

We were far better served playing Fas.
Seems kind of ridiculous that Oxley gets a game ahead of him in any universe.
