I heard David King say on SEN that Melbourne move the ball slowly into the forward line, it's no good having Dawes in is no good if we move the ball slowly. Yes this is true however the slow movement is because of the lack of forward line. Well I hope so.

Great to have Dawes back. Hes no star but I thought we looked better when he played last year and gives us a proper hit up target at half forward. Also I know he's limited but always like Jordie in the side, maybe let him annoy Murphy all day. Full game for JKH hopefully with Byrnes out.

Looks like the Blues want to make this into a midfield battle, which I'd argue isn't wise considering we don't have too many flighty, outside types anymore. Garlett usually kicks 5.

Hopefully our ball-hog style can drought Carlton who are currently 18th in regards to disposals and effective disposals. Both teams make a shitload of turnovers. If Dawes can announce himself early and hold the focus of Carlton's defense then Kent, Evans, and JKH should have a few sneaky goal opportunities.

Maybe, will we, can we, though.

This is probably our biggest game for the next eight weeks.

Terlich as a defensive forward? I'd give that a crack, he can run, pressure and tackle. I'd rather him missing shots on goal than setting shots up for opponents.

Not a bad idea but we'd then lack run out of the backline unless someone like Bail gets shifted there and then there really isn't much practical difference from the switch. It'd just be him turning it over rather than Terlich.

Yeah, given the ins maybe Kent. I really want to like Terlich but **** is he sloppy with the ball.

IN 2011 CARLTON players accused their Melbourne opposition of playing 'bruise-free footy' – and Nathan Jones hasn't forgotten.

Both teams are winless going into Saturday's MCG clash and the Demons co-captain says it is a motivating factor for him.

"I still remember it - I'm not sure about the rest of the group," Jones told reporters at AAMI Park on Thursday.

"It's definitely at the forefront of my mind going into the game," he said.

Lets hope Paul Roos replays the comments over and over again and the boys come out firing, of course now that jones has said that we will lay 3 tackles for the game and be 59 down at qtr time

He is no more sloppy than the majority of our team , atleast you know what your going to get with Terlich
McDonald, Bail, Nico, Jordie would be the only guys on his level. Sure everyone on the team ****s up as they are consistently under pressure but it's a constant with Terlich.

I am not even slightly more confident when Grimes or Frawley have the footy, Grimes is a shocking decision maker and he usually just slams it on the boot, Frawley has an unusual ball drop that ends with him misskicking quite often, Neither are 'better' kicks than terlich

I see Grimes is your new Rivers. He's had an ordinary start and you have a terrible case of confirmation bias. Frawley I agree is rubbish whenever he's chipping the ball.

Nah mate Riv was a better defender and good decision maker by hand , Grimes looks like he just wants to make it someone elses problem as fast as possible
Grimes has always been a poor decision maker and kicker IMO, I noticed it a couple years ago and got shot down for mentioning it , unfortunately he isnt doing his good work as 3rd man in anymore either

Grimes has kept his man in check, he's doing an adequate job and will get back to being the good half back he was 2 years ago. Terlich's main go is the run out of defense thing and he's not doing it well enough. Come to think of it Grimey could probably go a stint in the forward line given he's a good reader of the ball and hard worker. Might freshen him up a bit.

Yeah I can agree on that he does read the ball well and he has a good pair of hands on him maybe he can snaffle a couple forward just to change his focus a little
