Changes V Crows

So does that mean you have got 3 out of 23 almost right so far?

Hahaha, nah. Averaging 7/8 in my tipping comp this year actually, been managing to pick the upsets pretty well. Even got Essendon over the Saints but wasn't game to put any money on them of course. :p

OUT: Rocca, Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Fraser (if not 100 per cent).
IN: Wood, Dick, Wellingham, Barham.

Basically, we need a rapid injection of speed and pressure. Barham's disposal might not be great as yet but he is quick and fearless and is a tackling machine. With no pendles we need someone in the guts scrapping for it.
Dick in for forward pressure obviously and Wellingham also adds toe.

I've been doing my best to tip Adelaide games right down the line this season, as little bias as possible. Managed a pretty good record over the journey so far, tipped the Saints over us by 54 and they won by 57, tipped Geelong by a couple of kicks at Skilled Stadium and they got up by a couple of points, and tipped Collingwood by 14 at AAMI a month ago; they got up by 21.

Crows by 35 this time. Too many targets up forward, too much run through the midfield; if Bock comes back the defense will be at full strength. It's easy to look at who they've beaten and underestimate them, but believe me, they're playing above and beyond how their were even a month or so ago. The pies would need something pretty special to get up imo.

You bring nothing to the table. You tell us we'd need something pretty special to get up this week.... Good work. Are you saying Adelaide just need to keep doing what they have been doing? They don't need to do anything special this week? It's only Collingwood, they have lost their last 2 games against average opponents anyway....

Go away and tell someone else how well your tipping has gone this year because I (And I bet I speak for most of us) don't give a rats ass how good its been.

It will be interesting at the selection table this week

Im going

IN: Dick, Wood, Wellingham, N. Brown
OUT: McCarthy, Rocca, Pendlebury(inj.), L. Brown

OTHER POSSIBILITES

Sidebottom or Johnson out for Stanley
Reid or Dawes for Anthony(highly doubt)

Clarke, Goldsack and Barham also up for contention.

Not the sort of post I'd say these guys want in their "Changes v Crows" thread on their own board, particularly with such a big game. They're discussing stuff amongst themselves here, ya gotta know when it's appropriate and when it's not. More of an AFL Board post(s).

Rusling, are you joking. The guy did not get a kick in a VFL side that kicked 26 goals. NO WAY!!!!!

wasnt he playing down back?? also, judging but what JA did i dont see that rusling would have been all that much worse - even with all his injuries and lack of game time... anthony is not a key forward and doest seem to know how to play along side one... dont get me wrong i think he has been very good for us, but i still think too much has to go right for him to contribute.. rusling on the other hand ,imo, is a natural fprward who knows when and how to lead and can play along side other key forwards...

B: Harry O'Brien, Simon Prestigiacomo, Leigh Brown
HB: Marty Clarke, Nick Maxwell, Heath Shaw
C: Sharrod Wellingham, Dayne Beams, Alan Didak
HF: Tarkyn Lockyer, Travis Cloke, Dale Thomas
For: Paul Medhurst, John Anthony, Brad Dick
Foll: Josh Fraser, Leon Davis
Rov: Dane Swan
Inter: Cameron Wood, Alan Toovey, Steele Sidebottom, Shane O'Bree

Emer: Chris Dawes, Ben Johnson, Ryan Cook, Tyson Goldsack, Ben Reid, Nathan Brown

In: Clarke, Wellingham, Dick, Wood
Out: Pendlebury, Rocca (both inj), Johnson, McCarthy

The outs are probably all justified to a point, but 7 changes is highly unlikely.

No way should Clarke and Corrie play. Clarke was awful in the 2s, Corrie kicked a couple of goals, but just about everyone did that.

Out: Pendles, Rocca, McCarthy
in: Wood/Dawes, Dick, Wellingham/Goldsack

Would love to see Toovey and Obree be dropped for their pitiful efforts, but lets be realistic, it aint gonna happen!

Tooveys piteful effort on Sunday? Please explain........................

Toovey has benn great all year, i'd be looking at the senior guys such as O'bree, Swan, Fraser, Davis, Didak

they were all soft and didnt not want to embrace the contest.

Assuming Rocca and Pendlebury are injured, the following changes are most likely to happen.

Rocca out - Dawes In
Can pinch hit in the ruck and forward. Played well last time we met and kicked a couple goals.

Pendlebury out - Wellingham In

I'd also like to see Dick come in this week. Not sure who to drop for him though. Most likely McCarthy or Sidebottom.

In: Clarke, Wellingham, Dick, Wood
Out: Pendlebury, Rocca (both inj), Johnson, McCarthy

Agree except for Clarke and a few other 50/50 decisions

I'd prefer either Goldsack (if we want another defender) or Cook (if we want a tagger). Both have VFL form, Clarke hasnt.

The other option is Dawes instead of Wood - both played well last week - but I think we need Wood because Fraser has neither the form or match fitness to go solo.

And the other choice is whether you drop McCarthy or Sidebottom. Much of a muchness but perhaps I'd rather keep McCarthy. Sidebottom is too lightly framed for finals.

And BJ wont get dropped. MM loves him too much.

B: Toovey – Prestigiacomo – Maxwell
HB: Shaw – Goldsack – O’Brien
C: Lockyer – O’Bree – Johnson
HF: Didak – Cloke – Thomas
F: Dick – Anthony – Medhurst
FL: Fraser – Swan – Davis
INT: Wellingham - Beams - L. Brown - Wood

I think L. Brown may surprise people at full-forward, and kick a bag of goals this weekend.

This sounds harsh, but I'd actually drop Travis Cloke and give him a massive wake-up call for the week after (should we get there) or next year. Been ordinary for far too long now ...

B: Harry O'Brien, Simon Prestigiacomo,

In: Clarke, Wellingham, Dick, Wood
Out: Pendlebury, Rocca (both inj), Johnson, McCarthy

This is close to what I am thinking should be done.

Clarke to have a go as a run with, Johno has failed in this respect.

With Pendles out it is hard to omit another midfielder in McCarthy - Wellingham cannot cover for both - so I would leave him in & Sidebottom. We cannot be short on midfielders against Adelaide.

Looking at backline match ups I cannot see who L. Brown is suited to. I cannot see a real function for him in this game while Wood is included as ruck. He could go forward as a Rocca replacement but that is clutching at straws. Goldsack would be well suited to a number of Adelaide forwards and must come in. If MM is serious about horses for courses Goldsack for Brown is the logical move. MM may possibly go with Brown as back up ruck over Wood, but I beleive this would be a mistake.

This leaves one left to leave out, this has to be Medhurst who has shown no form at all this year and made no impact on any game since returning from injury - Dick replaces him easily.

Out: Rocca, Pendles, Johnson, Brown, Medhurst
In: Wood, Wellingham, Clarke, Goldsack, Dick

Amer from Adelaide reminds me of Wyle E Coyote in that classic Bugs Bunny show cartoon, who introduces himself to his prey (Bugs Bunny) as "Wyle E. Coyote - Super Genius" and then invites him to save themselves both a lot of trouble, and just give up peacefully. Coz such a dumb critter as Bugs couldn't possibly compete with Wyle E Coyote's superior intellect. Of course, Bugs declines and the coyote thoroughly underestimates Bugs and ends up defeated and much the worse for wear.

Think of it as analogy for Saturday night, with the cocky Crows = Wyle E. Coyote and the Pies = Bugs Bunny.

Hmmm..."Allow me to introduce myself. Amer from Adelaide - Super Genius"

He had 19 disposals, 13 marks, 7 inside 50s and 4 goal assists on the weekend against St Kilda, and you want him dropped? Sure, he also had 2 behinds, and his kicking at goal generally leaves a lot to be desired, but he was one of our hardest workers on Sunday, and one of the few players who could honestly say afterwards that he had a good game.

mccarthy goes for me felllas
plays one average game against the dogs and gets a finals birth
i no there are many mccarthy lovers out there but look his not gonna be a superstar and his definately not gonna be a good player

Totally agree. Couldn't understand it. Dick Clarke Wood Wellingham possible inclusions. Please oh please do not be Cook or Stanley. Maybe good VFL players but are useless and should be delisted at the end of the year. Beams and Sidebottom totally cruised past them in ranking after one preseason.
