How far off is riewvoldt? Is he realistically going to be back against us? I couldn't care less if he plays actually. He will make no difference if we play our best footy

Saints coach said He would definitely play next week

Man, if the Saints or Bombers play like they did today we will blow them away.

I don't think Roughy is fast or agile enough around the ground to have the same defence that Ayce does. Not sure on his tank either. I do like his contest as a ruck though. Stay second ruck for me.
Roughie is both faster and more agile than ayce. No question.

Roughy has been very good down back, I like the idea of him being able to pinch hit down back but I feel his number one spot should stay in the backline.

Whats with this opinion creeping in that Minson isn't good at ground level? He is a beast in the clearances. And while he's not fantastic in the air he's still much better than Cordy. But I am liking what Cordys bringing to the zone defence so I'm starting to come around to this athletic ruck idea, but in saying that I don't like the domination were copping in the middle. I believe Roughy can offer the exact same, if not more, around the ground as Cordy but a lot more in the ruck.

I'm just really not sure how to go about the changes this week, and I don't really want to make too many but if people are sore well its not a bad week to rest them. Quite a few different ways we can go I feel.

I like the idea of swapping Cordy for Redpath and moving Roughy into the ruck, try and stretch the saints defence in the perfect conditions under the roof. Redpath deserves another shot. Might be a touch short down back but if their talls are going to be Roo, Bruce, Membrey then Talia, Roberts and Wood should be able to handle them. If their talls are getting on top (and really they shouldn't be if our midfield pressure is up to the standard we've shown) we can shift Redpath back whose shown he can play down there, or move Roughy back to settle things while Boyd does some ruckwork and Roberts can go forward. Absolutely loving this flexibility in our talls, very very handy.

Honestly if we bring the same pressure and effort as we have so far this season, we will win. Can't get ahead of ourselves though and must be switched on, saints aren't going too badly.

If Wallis is back he probably comes in for Stevens for mine, although I love Stevens pressure and versatility. I dunno not too fussed either way. Will trust the MC 100%

I get the feeling Minson will be back this week.

Does anyone know how Bob's shoulder is? It looked sore but he played out the game.

Assume there might be one or two with soreness, but if not straight swap Ayce for Minson.

Already unnecessarily nervous for the game. Can't we just go in big underdogs every week?!

I agree with your views on Cordy and zone defence. Clearly Bev is prioritising this over what Minson brings (in short clearances). I don't agree Redpath is much of an answer though. He isn't quick and when the ball hits the ground, he is slow.

At this stage, Roberts and Talia could be the CHB and FB with Rough floating around either as No 1 ruck or as support for Cordy. Very difficult to say as clearly we can't judge Ayce on mere possessions or hitouts or the hitouts to advantage and clearances he gives away (and I say this in all seriousness).

Bev indicated no injuries. But surely some tired bodies after Sydney. It might be time for a few changes just to rest the more tired bodies.

So as a stab...

In: Wallis (if fit), Biggs
Out: Webb (rest been great though), Smith (only if Wallis in)

Honey sub (more for a rest) and Hrovat in (needs to start showing some composure)

I've given up on rucks.

is this really the time to be giving Roughie a whirl as #1 ruck?
Is it something we've been doing in the preseason/training?
Roughie is such a crucial part of our structure, even more so with Morris out.
I don't mind the idea of him pinch hitting, but #1 ruck is not something i like the sound of.
Cordy works hard, but just doesn't seem to have that next step quality
Minson is a beast who is slumping hard, but at his best give us first use everytime.
Campbell.....honestly don't know much about him at the moment to be honest.

Surely it's one of these 3 we need as our #1.

Billy Longer has been very good for the Saints this year, I reckon this is the right week to being Minson back.

Minson consistently gets burned by opposition transition and turns the ball over in dangerous positions. He either improves his speed, reaction time, or running angles and understands his disposal limitations or this will be his last year with us as Beverages game plan requires a mobile ruckman who can play their roll in defensive zone structures and be a reliable outlet in offensive transition.

Cordy is far from the answer but is the best at these aspects at the moment, with Minson number 2 and Campbell 3.

Though 30 Minson is young enough to make these adjustments, it just gets down to whether he is able to

yeah i see this as a danger game for us. First game we are expected to win and add to that the potential let down that can often be suffered after such a great win the week before. Stay grounded doggies!
