We have to start getting our best team out on the park. With guys like Barham, Johnson, Goldy, Leigh Brown, Toovey and a few others we really have too many battlers and poor users of the footy. You can only carry so many in a team, and we are carrying too many if we want to challenge Geelong or StKilda. We have Wellingham, Clarke, Dick, McCarthy, Blight, Nathan Brown and Fraser all out of the team or injured at the moment and we need to get the right mix of those players back into the team before finals. This week i'd be looking at something like this:

By the Western Bulldogs clash i'd be hoping for something like this:

OUT: Barham, Johnson, Leigh Brown, Goldsack
IN: Wellingham, Dick, Fraser, Nathan Brown

With Clarke, McCarthy, Blight, Goldsack and Johnson fighting for a spot from Sidebottom, Wellingham and Dick.

If we required a more defensive medium sized player or small Sidebottom or Wellingham would drop out for one of Clarke, Johnson or Goldsack.

Loving that round 22 team would only make one change and that would be McCarthy instead of Sidebottom. Sidey has been very good especially for a first year just not Jmac good.

I disagree. I think Tooves has potential, so does Dawes, Sidey, Wellingham, Goldsack and Barham even (if he can sort his kicking out).

I want Sidebottom to stay in the side for another week, and I also want Wellingham back in.

Early thoughts are that I am already very nervous for this game!!! Hearts already racing a million beats per second!

This is MMs 10th year, when have you ever seen him make 4 unforced changes to a side that has knocked off a credible opponent.
I actually thought Barhams' disposal was much improved this week (in the second half, the first half saw almost all the boys making glaring errors as Brisbane physically monstered us), if anyone was to be dropped for their disposals it would be Toovey. He looked like dear in the headlights and constantly fumbled and stumbled, but to his credit, scared as he looked he still kept going in and did well. The only changes that I can see MM making are Jack for Josh (if he's fit) or Dawes or even Pebs (after todays article quoting MM), or maybe Dick for Sidey, I think Sidey might need a rest.

We cant afford to have too many young and inexperienced players in the team at any one time. Having Barham, Beams, Sidebottom, Dick, Dawes and even Wellingham in the team could expose us at a critical time.

2-3 of the above maximum. Anything more than that and we will be up shit creek when the pressures on.

Totally agree, they have been and are very good this year. Supporters often have their pet hates and loves when it comes to perceptions of players.

More goalkicking options against us this week so we'll have to setup well in defence.

Tippett, Porps, Burton and Knights are a good comination.

Get the matchups right here and we'll go a long way to winning this.

I think Goldsack might be a good option this week with Knights, Burton and Porps all potential matchups for him.
