I'd be keen to see any of Laurie, Sestan, KBrown, Woey get a run of a month of games. Piss off any combo of Salem, Viney, Sparrow, Sharp to make room.

Maybe give Roo a few weeks at Casey to find some form; clear out the forward line for him. Give Fullarton games in the 1s if need be to make room, but sticking fat with the current setup is madness and will cook his confidence (more than it already is).

Absolutely pointless if it means we are going to play a man short in the F50 like we did against Geelong. And if you want to put Sparrow in the midfield to tag Merrett that just means less time for others

Point is Goody is going to play him anyway. He does nothing around that F50 arc, so why not try him in a role that could see him have impact at least. It was a negating role, but it was probably the most impact he's had in a long time. We genuinely have zero taggers. I'd prefer to see him at Casey, but he's a Goody favourite.

Lord Nev posted some good vision in the Goodwin thread that showed how badly the Sparrow tagging move actually hurt us.

Yes, he did an OK job (though Holmes still had 17 disposals to Sparrow's 5), but it let Geelong do whatever they wanted in their back half because we didn't send someone back there to fill the gap he left.

If we're playing a tagger, that tagger needs to be in the middle most of the game. If Sparrow spends most of the game in the middle alongside Oliver and Viney, we might as well pack it in now, because we're cooked.

The fact that Laurie’s 32 disposals and a goal in the VFL can’t get him in the team ahead of 1 disposal Spargo or 5 disposal Sparrow says where we are with selection right now. Absolutely shitting on the face of those who are actually performing in the 2s with Goodies favourites.

Holmes shitting on the trash tagging strategy was dead set gold and 100% on the money. Goodie has gone into 100% damage-control.
