McHenry in, literally what in the **** are they doing. The guy isn't getting another contract - why play him?

It's better for the club if we get steam rolled.
I'm not confident that this will actually happen, at least as long as Nix is there.

That's what I am still trying to get my head around...

For a Thursday night game at AO in front of a National audience, we replace two injured, proven goal kickers with...

Basically nothing that will ever look like kicking a goal.

Really? Our club looks about as positive as a Lemming approaching the cliff.

Given we have 14 players out of contracts it feels inevitable that guys like McHenry, Hamill, Berry, Sholl and Cook get 1 year extensions at a minimum.

Cut Bond, Sloane, Parnell, lose Himmelberg as a FA and you've hit your required changes for the year.

I can't believe a perfect opportunity to give a couple young players a game against Richmond and nicks makes one unforced change. If Crouch wasn't injured dowling wouldn't be playing.

How can you keep rewarding the same players with selection week in week out when we are bottom five at the moment.

Mchenry gets chance after chance while others get no look in at all. Something is seriously wrong here.
Something really is wrong here. Good call.

-Through the constant selection of the regular players, Nicks is stating that this is the best team the AFC can field in any particular week. How can Nicks justify the consistency of poor performances from established players?

-Due to their constant non-selection, our reserves players are not better than the AFL team players according to this logic. Our recent recruits are noticeably absent from the AFL team. Are our recruits so poor they can't get a game for a 15th placed team? Why are they so poor? Is Nicks overseeing their development? If yes, what is failing in this area at the AFC? If no, why not?

-Without AFL selection, Nicks is relying on other development coaches and the SANFL competition to develop players to the point of challenging the AFL team players. How involved is Nicks in the wider squad?

-After the worst AFC performance of the season and in season determining game, the team cannot be improved with our reserve players (Strachan excepted) according to Nicks. Does Nicks believe this is the best team at his disposal or has coaching cowardice become paralysing?

This weeks selection is a new low tide mark in the Matthew Nick coaching career. We look like a club in a flat spin on our way to "crashing and burning". Matthew "do nothing" Nicks is now definitely on the chopping block. It's now only a question of WHEN.

There’s never a time to boo your own player just because you don’t think they should be selected
I agree with this, no matter what.

That said, I almost nominated myself in the Ugly category for yelling out to McHenry during the game against Port this year after yet another turnover:

"McHenry you little sh!t! Why do we bother to pick you every week?" Followed by a lot of "Don't give it to Ned" :flushed:

Why McHenry is called i have absolutely no idea. Since i don't watch the sanfl , can someone here justify his call up? He has not played a decent afl game this year at all. Every game in his career he's played he's stunk it up big time bar maybe 1 game.

He is a known quantity at this stage. Surely our list is not that bad ? We don't have anyone else.

So Brodie Smith takes Cook position on the wing and Hamill takes Smith spot on HBF.
Cook has played one quarter on the wing in 9 games this year.

Since he is averaging 9 disposals per game, if he had been playing on the wing, it would make him the worst wingman in the history of the AFL 🙄.
